Oscars 2010: discover animations selected
Coffee, road pursuit, terrifying granny, Death VS doctor, murders...

Since 2nd february we know nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards which will be presented on Sunday, March 7, 2010. The ceremony will once again take place at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live by ABC in the United States.
Well, it's official ! French Roast 3D animation, made by Fabrice o. Joubert and produced by Pumpkin factory/ Bibo Films, has been selected for Oscars 2010 in Short Film category. If you don't already watch it, you can click here.
There is another french animation selected: Logorama.
Directed by the collective H5, Logorama is created entirely out of real world logotypes and brand characters.

La Dama y la muerte (The Lady and the Reaper).
This Spanish shortfilm directed by Javier Recio Gracia and produced by Kandor Moon tells the tale of a sweet old widow who is living alone on her farm, waiting for the arrival of death so she can be with her beloved husband once again. One night, while asleep, the lady's life fades out and she's invited by the grim reaper to cross death's door. But just when she is about to do so, the old lady wakes up inside a hospital ward and discovers that, unfortunately, she's been saved from death's door by an arrogant doctor.he doctor then wages what he thinks is a heroic battle against the grim reaper, attempting to recover the old lady's life at any cost.

Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty, a blend od 3D and 2D made in 2008 by Nicky Phelan and produced by Brown Bag Films.
Written by Kathleen O'Rourke, Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty is the story of Granny O'Grimm, a seemingly sweet old lady, loses the plot as she tells her version of Sleeping Beauty to her terrified Granddaughter.

Wallace et Gromit : A Matter of Loaf and Death (Un Sacré Pétrin), an animated short film created by Nick Park where Wallace & Gromit have started a new bread baking business. Although business is booming, Gromit is concerned by the news that a dozen local bakers have 'disappeared' this year - but Wallace isn't worried. He's too distracted and 'dough-eyed' in love with former beauty and bread enthusiast, Piella Bakewell...
