The wait is over.
The first beta version of Google Chrome for Mac and Linux have been published.
Well, over a year after the release of Google Chrome for Windows, yesterday
Google announced the availability of Google Chrome 4.0 beta for Mac and Linux.
Like Chrome for Windows, this beta for Mac and Linux supports HTML 5, themes to customize your web browser in one click through a gallery, Omnibox, tabs management...
But it's still missing some features that are in the Windows version such as task manager, bookmark sync, Gears...
If you want to test Google Chrome beta 4.0 I invite you to visit
this page to download the version for Windows,
this one for Mac (Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Intel only ) or you can also click
here for Linux(Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora/openSUSE).
Google also launched
Google chrome extensions a plateform for Chrome extensions. In fact Chrome 4.0 supports extensions, a function like Mozilla Firefox add-ons.
But for the moment Google chrome extensions is only available for Windows and Linux, Mac extensions should be available soon.
You can check out more than 300 extensions in the gallery of google chrome extensions such as
Google Mail Checker for Gmail,
Google translate,
Xmarks,
Aviary Screen Capture...
