Just a little news to inform you that
Linux Mint, the an operating system based on Linux Ubuntu distribution which refers to Debian GNU/Linux,
is now in version 7.
Well, tuesday,
the team of Linux Mint announced that the final version of Linux Mint 7, code name Gloria, was
available for download.
This new version,
based on Ubuntu 9.04, Linux 2.6.28, Gnome 2.26 et Xorg 7.4 brings some bugs fixes, some improvements, and of course some new features :
appearance of a new feature called Suggestion in mintMenu : when filtering gives no results the menu now shows a set of suggestions related to what is being searched
improvements of mintInstall : some of the most popular applications were gathered in a new window named
Featured applications. This window shows the popular applications which are available and not currently installed on the system

improvements of Graphical User Interface : the default icon set was replaced with
Gnome Colors, a new theme based on

If you want more information about this latest version of Linux Mint, I invite you to go to its official website. And if you want to download it, you can follow
this way.
It seems to me, the menu is a mix between Mac and Linux - Mac because it is organised into columns, branching out to the right, in the same style as the finder.
Looks like and interesting distro, if I had a spare computer I'd be on this like a shot!
