Every year, Adobe launched their industry forum for designers, developers and business decision makers focused on creating and delivering rich, engaging digital experiences across mediums and devices :
Adobe MAX.
And yesterday began in San Francisco, and this until November 19, followed by events in Milan from December 1 to 4, 2008, and Tokyo from January 29 to 30, 2009,
Adobe MAX 2008/2009.
Organized under the theme "
Connect. Discover.Inspire",
Adobe MAX 2008/2009 is the occasion for designers, developers and business decision makers and partners, to get together, to discover many novelties of Adobe (such as
Thermo, a product destined for designers to create easily RIA application and that allows them on familiar workflows to visually create working applications that easily flow into production and development) and soak up ideas to create rich and interactive content on the web through :
- keynotes from CEO Shantanu Narayen and CTO Kevin Lynch
- technology "sneak-peeks"
- business discussions
- technical sessions
- hands-on workshops
- exhibits and networking events
It is more than
200 sessions (run around 60 minutes) and
50 labs (run around 90minutes where each attendee in the lab will have a dedicated computer to work from and follow along with an instructor) and many presentations of pre-events labs (like
ADIM@MAX) distributed in three distinct tracks :

Envision : learn about Adobe's vision and strategies for digital experiences that are using Adobe technology for productivity and profit.

Design : for designers in order to help them expand their skills (sessions cover cross-media workflows, website prototyping, user interface design, interactive games...) thanks to the technology of Adobe (Adobe Air, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Media Player...).

Develop : for architects and developers to learn best practices for architecting, building and deploying next generation web, mobile and enterprise applications, get an update on the latest technologies and discover the future.
This great event is also the opportunity
to honor the most engaging and innovative work (grouped in different categories : Advertising and Branding, Enterprise, Mobility and Devices, Public Sector, Rich Internet Applications, Video, and People's Choice)
from designers and developers using a broad spectrum of Adobe products and technologies during the
2008 MAX Awards.

Well, as we speak about Adobe, know that today Adobe has launched
a new updated of Pixel Bender (an image and video processing infrastructure with runtime optimization on heterogeneous hardware) notably including
a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS4 (for more, it is by
this way), but also Adobe has unveiled a new platform in beta version called
COCOMO.
This new service allows
Flex developers to easily add real-time social capabilities into their RIA (Rich Internet Applications). So, using
Cocomo and
Adobe Flex, developers can include collaboration features like :

- Webcam Video
- Chat
- Multi-User Whiteboards
- Real-Time File Sharing
- User Management
