In the beginning of this month,
we spoke about Ubuntu 8.10 at the time of its first beta, and remember, I gave you an appointment on October 30th, 2008 ! So, I am here.
Well, there is a week, the Release Candidate of Ubuntu 8.10 published, and it is today that
Canonical LTD suggest
the download of the final version of Ubuntu 8.10.
Remind that this new version brings many bug fixes, new versions of some software, but also some new features :
- the integration of
Gnome 2.24 including support for tabbed browsing
- the integration of the latest stable version of X.Org :
X.Org 7.4
- supports 3G connections with the applet Network Management
Network Manager 0.7

Linux kernel 2.6.27
- added
DKMS which allows kernel drivers to be automatically rebuilt when new kernels are released
- Open Office version 2.4.1
- Etc.

Oh, well.. Ubuntu is my favourite os, but there is not much difference between 8.04 and 8.10. On the other hand, it's great that Ubuntu get's updates that add something new (unlike Windows users [who only get secuirity updates
