Recently, Microsoft has launched their latest update of their
free software to create and edit panoramas :
Image Composite Editor.
Well, unless that you have a digital camera with a
wide-angle allowing you to take photographs a landscape as awhole, most of the time, for creating panoramas, you need a software such as
Stitcher,
Hugin (based on Panorama Tools),
The Panorama Factory, Autostich and many others.
Simple, requiring few adjustments and
free,
Microsoft Image Composite Editor (Microsoft ICE) allows you to
create a panorama from several shots (photos which must be overlapped).
In fact, after importing your photographs, Microsoft ICE will research all common points between each of them, correct the different exposures and assemble the photographs in order to realize your panorama.
Then, you can vary the angle of view, adjust it, intensify or diminish effects... and save your panorama in a wide variety of formats like TIFF, JPEG, PNG, BMP,etc. but also multi-resolution tiled formats like
HD View and
Silverlight Deep Zoom.
