That's it ! We make it ! CrystalXP.net have changed and reorganized their forum. The former IPB plateform gives way to the "Mydiscussions".



What motivated this change ?

- First, IPB became increasingly heavy to integrate in the site. As one goes along the forum updates, the options developed, since the creation of V4 became obsolete, and developers of IPB drive run out of steam to create a veritable SDK (a software development kit which allows our site better communicate with the forum)
- IPB cannot create 2 separate forums with the same user base. So, the English community could not develop correctly, because it was too much dependent of the French community.
- At last, IPB could not come up any more to our expectations for the future projects that we have.



What does it change for you ?

This will change your habitudes... MyDiscussions plateform doesn't run in the same manner as IPB. That's why, we will take some marks. Finished the option "See my new messages". Instead, you have "My selection of new messages" and the small "flags".
Red flag = there are new messages in a topic that you have read, but at which you didn't participate.
Green flag = ibid red flag, but you posted a message in the topic.
Yellow flag = you added this topic in your favorites.

By clicking on the icon of flags, you can in this manner try the list of topics which you are interested. To come back to the traditional list, you just have to click on this icon :

Reorganization of categories :

We took advantage of this migration to reorganize the forum a little in order to reply to the latest evolutions content.
The new structure clearly divides the english forum and the French forum, what will also bring more clarity.
Then, the forum splits in four big sections : Graphics ; Customization & Computing ; Community ; Coconut Island.

There are too much modifications for all enumerated. However, we will go for a little ride of major evolution :


- In the "Graphics" section, we can say good bye to "Graphic request" which is substituted by "Graphic Mutual-Aid". We renamed this section because now it introduces new rules whose here an extract :
"Members of the community aren't here to realize a request under orders of somebody. If you don't take part actively in the realization of a project, a moderator will have the right to close your topic."
I leave it to you to read the rules to this address. You have understood, the aim of these new rules is to avoid the situations where a member has given orders to another member.


- In the section "Customization & Computing", I ask you to welcome to a new OS, more and more used by members of the community : Mac OSX!
This section split in 3 subcategories : General Discussion, Customization, Tutorials.
For the moment, there aren't a lot of messages, but I know that you will be many to animate this new section !

You can also notice the apparition of the section "Hardware Discussion & Help". Another novelty, the "Desktops" meet from now on the "Graphic Selections" because they are two similar subjects.


- In the section "Community", you'll find "News comments" in order to comment published news on the site, "Contests" and "Site & Forum Issues". No major change excluding the French/English separation.


- Lastly in the "Coconut Island" you have your famous section "General & Off Topic Discussion", where it is also separated from french : you have the power!!!



On the french forum, we can notice approximately the same structure. About, notice that even if the english forum has now its own page, you can always see the new messages of your French-speaking friends here (do not hesitate to speak with them in french in their topic).


I hope you will be not too lost in this new organization and that the new forum will bring you entirely satisfaction !
