Caffeine: the next search engine of Google

Recently, Google unveiled through Webmaster Central Blog their latest version of their search engine: "For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google's web search."

The project is now official ! With a new infrastructure of search, the next search engine of the firm of Mountain View, code name Caffeine, was revealed and is aiming to improve the envelope on size, indexing speed and accuracy of results.

Google invite public but mostly web professionals to test Caffeine in order to collect their first feelings and feedbacks.

For the moment, there are few visible changes: The new infrastructure sits "under the hood" of Google's search engine, which means that most users won't notice a difference in search results. But web developers and power searchers might notice a few differences...
