Just a little news to inform you that the final version of Ubuntu 9.04, code name Jaunty Jackalope, is now available for downloading.
This new version brings some bugs fixes, a better startup time, the integration of web services and applications in the desktop interface and some new features.
On the menu of Ubuntu 9.04 :
- integration of the latest GNOME 2.26 desktop environment including the free disc-burning program Brasero
- integration of the version 1.6 of X.Org server for a better compatibility with some graphics cards
- file system Ext4 added
- Linux kernel 2.6.28
- Open Office in version 3.0.1 that offers a compatibility with Microsoft Office
- Mozilla Firefox 3.0.9

i heard about ubuntu. it looks pretty clean. my friend tried it yet. he said it's faster.

The boot, especially, is much faster. For me, it takes about 15-16 seconds from the Ubuntu loading screen to a completely loaded desktop.. (I've done some tweaking, though)
