A few months ago,
the Global Environment Facility, supported by the World Bank and the International Union for Conservation of Nature, has launched a campaign which allows private companies or institutions to contribute in
the preservation of biodiversity on the planet by committing to the protection of the animal that represents their logo : it is
Save your logo campaign.
Many companies, entities and organizations, such as Puma, Peugeot, Jaguar, Lacoste, Maaf, Esso, etc. are using symbols of biodiversity as logos or for their communication needs. Often, they are using the image of animal or plant species that are threatened or who may be one day. Until now, none have participated to this original project.
But tomorrow the brand known for its iconic Crocodile,
Lacoste, announced its participation in the "Save Your Logo" campaign :
"For over 75 years a crocodile has been the LACOSTE logo. Now the brand will actively support projects selected by the GEF to safeguard or protect the endangered crocodile, alligator, caiman or gavial species, whose loss would jeopardize the biological balance of their natural habitats".
A great initiative from Lacoste, who by launching
this original advertising campaign becomes the first international brand to support the "
Save Your Logo" campaign.
Now remain to see if others multinational companies will follow this project.
