That's it, this morning Adobe finally revealed the new version of their Creative Suite 4 via a web broadcast, where the different suites have been presented with one hundred updates, but also through their official website.







You can choose from six different suites :


and the CS4 includes the following software :
InDesign CS4, Photoshop CS4 Extended, Illustrator CS4, Acrobat 9 Pro, Flash CS4 Professional, Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4, Contribute CS4, After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Soundbooth CS4, Adobe OnLocation CS4, Encore CS4, Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Device Central CS4, Dynamic Link, Version Cue CS4.

Well, speaking about each new application would be really too long, so we will see the novelties of CS4 for Photoshop and Flash :


New features of Photoshop :

- support for graphics acceleration card added
- content-Aware Scaling added : to automatically recompose an image as you resize it, smartly preserving vital areas as the image adapts to the new dimensions.
- file display options added : Easily work with multiple open files by using tabbed document display or n-up views.
- 3D functions added in order to paint, compose and animate 3D models
- possibility to rotate your your canvas for distortion-free viewing at any desired angle
- adjustments panel improved

For Flash :

- function Object-based animation added
- 3D rotation and translation tools added
- procedural modeling with Deco and Spray Brush

You can see that prices remain high, and the Creative Suite 4 will be available in English in October.

For the possibility to have a free upgrade of CS4 for people who recently acquired CS3, Adobe remains relatively quiet on the subject. The only information published on the web are here.
There isn't really an official press release, but apparently Adobe would have installed a grace period in order to offer to some people a free upgrade to the current version.
And we made the experience calling the service of Adobe :
for a purchase made on 1st September, with our proof of purchase and our identification number, we will normally receive free upgrade in December (CS4 will be available in France on the middle of december).

Of course, we don't know the exact dates of this grace period and probably it will be case by case, but nothing prevents you to call them and try it.
