You have understood, as planned, Mozilla released the final version of the free web browser Firefox 3.0 !
Attention, not anyhow ! Mozilla decided to make the official launch of Firefox 3.0 a world record and so fall into the Guinness !
This initiative caused many reactions on the net, even on CrystaXP (see topics Firefox 3.0 veut établir un record and Download Day 2008).
So, since several days, they recover promises for downloading Firefox 3.0 on the site Download Day !
We had the occasion to see via a world map the number of pledges by country !
Besides, if you are registered, you will receive an email to download it !
More simple, more efficient and more secure, the new version of Firefox 3.0 adds many improvements but also new features such as:
- quickly add bookmarks from the location bar with a single click
- Anti-virus integration: Firefox will inform anti-virus software when downloading executables.
- protection against malware software : malware and pishing protection warn users when they arrive at sites which are known to install viruses, spyware, trojans or other malware.
- new SSL error pages: clearer and stricter error pages are used when Firefox encounters an invalid SSL certificate
- password management simplified
- better visual integration for Vista, Mac OS X and Linux
- association of keywords with your bookmarks for classing by subject
- improved performance : improvements to their JavaScript
- new graphics and font handling: new graphics and text rendering architectures in Gecko 1.9 provides rendering improvements in CSS, SVG as well as improved display of fonts with ligatures and complex scripts.
