That's it ! What the Team, our members and our visitors have had to wait for such a long time is finally arrived : the 4th version of CrystalXP.
V4, what is it in facts ?
It is 6043 hours of hard work, 56788 cuts of whip given, 567 bottles of wine drunk, 45 headaches and a tendinitis of the wrist... That is for us !
But for you, V4 is a complete reorganization of the site, new functionalities, a new design and a new Team ! It is quite good, isn't it ?
All right, I could suggest a game "find the 6543 differences between V3 and V4" but I'm not so cruel ! I'm going to write a super text which will be long and boring, it's funnier ! So let's go for an overview of the novelties :

The design :
The new design of the site (which I've done) mostly uses Everaldo's brand new icons (Crystal Project) and also some that were made by Overlord, by Nelson, or by me.

The new home page :
It contains an information bar that makes it easier to locate yourself on the site ! There's also a spanking new page which displays the board's last messages : "My selection of new messages". Thanks to this page, you'll be able to display only the messages from the English part of the forum if you want it.

A better download gallery :
The gallery was completely redone : new categories, filer options, more information displayed, more intuitive browsing. Well, I'll let you see that on your own !

Managing your creations will be easier than ever :
The system which guides you when you add a creation has been totally redesigned to be simpler and easier to use. It's also possible for you to modify your creations (text, ZIP archive, license ...), that should simplify the update of your works.

New factories, now entirely integrated to the site :
The Tux and Mascot Factories are at last integrated to the site. The adding process of a Tux or a Mascot will now be the same as the one for a gallery creation. Consequently, your little sweeties will only be displayed when the Team will have validated them. As for the new things, we've added a possibility to create "Families". Those allow you to group really similar creations. The families' management can be accessed by clicking on "Manage my creations".

A redesigned Tutorial category :
Tutorials which are referenced on the site will now be those of the forum. Not all the tutorials but only the best ones will be displayed in this category. They will be sorted by application, by recommended level and by theme (which will simplify your searches).

A search engine :
The third version of the site had an enormous lack : it needed a search engine. The search engine is a bit like the Great Ice-Barrier's Tourist Office. Now, we have one ! Ask it anything and it'll find it for you. Don't hesitate to try it, it'll greet you pretty well.

The iGloos, your personal home on the Great Ice-Barrier :
Last but not least !The greatest innovation of CrystalXP 4th version is without any doubt the creation of the iGloos ! But what's an iGloo ? It's your personal space, it gathers all your creations and your favourites. Opening an iGloo will automatically create an "iGloo thread" on the forum which will principally be a kind of Guestbook, but in which you will be able to expose your creations, like in a "Gallery thread". Be aware that you'll obtain the rights to moderate your "iGloo thread" (for this, you'll have to go to your control panel, on the site).

So, I stop here my long speech about novelties. I haven't disclose all, search the rest !
Please, give TheGuit and Vermi an ovation because they have programmed this wonderful V4
TheGuit has undertaken to program the foundations of the site (administration, link between the site and the forum) but also the tutorials, news, the search engine, the system for the new messages from the forums.
Vermi has worked on the Gallery, the iGloos, the Factories, and all the system to manage your creations.

Both accomplices have been helped by "Baron Hora" who has made in part the new upload system and the system for the images display.

I want to thank too Xena who has translated a lot of texts in English, but also Didas, k_millio, and Tessy for the Spanish translation of the site. I also thank all those who have helped us directly or indirectly to make of CrystalXP this enormous Community : sites which speak about us, magazines, our partners... and of course : YOU !

Finally, please welcome our new Team of "Validator'z" who are able to validate (or not) your creations and your tutorials : Babasse, Chozo-MJ, Epona, Mimipunk, Nelson, pit-tux et TulaSimoN.
And it's not finished ! Fagoon, GuiTux et Xena join us in our Team of Moderator'z, always here to help you, guide you and to whip you !
