Macbook Pro, Snow Leopard, iPhone 3GS, Safari 4

Two days ago, at San Francisco, there was the opening of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the annual conference organized by Apple to showcase their new software and technologies for developers, as well as offering hands-on labs and feedback sessions. : )

An event very expected where Apple dedicated their first keynote to the presentation of new products of Mac and their future version of the operating system Snow Leopard.

Led by Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, here the novelties announced during the conference.

And it's with 15-inch MacBook Pro that this keynote of WWDC began ! : party:

MacBook Pro


: ar: A MacBook which keeps the design of its predecessor, but which brings many new features such as :

MacBook Pro

- it incorporates the same non-user-replaceable battery found in the 17-inch MacBook Pro, an advanced built-in battery that lasts up to 7 hours
- integration of Intel Core 2 Duo until 3.06Ghz, 320GB hard drive, SD card slot...
- a new screen for a better color rendering

Available now, the 15-inch MacBookPro is in three version : its price varies according to processor speed. If you want more information about it, you can follow this way.

: ar: We also notice the addition of the name "Pro" to the 13-inch MacBook Pro unibody, equiped with the advanced built-in battery, a SD card slot, FireWire 800, an illuminated keyboard and a processor more powewerful than its predecessor.

The 17-inch MacBook Pro has also been updated with a better battery, a duo processor running at up to 2.53GHz, 2.8 GHz processor and a 500 GB hard drive. The MacBookAir has a new processor, and its price has been reduced (notably when we take a DSS).

On the menu of Snow Leopard, no new interface but :

- a new QuickTime Player

Well, now you can download the final version of Safari 4 which brings some new features :

- Improvements of its interface
- Top Sites, offering a visual preview of frequently visited and favorite pages
- Cover Flow, to easily flip through web history or bookmarks
- Smart Address Fields for automatically completing web addresses from an easy to read list of suggestions
- Search Fields, to fine tune searches with recommendations from Google Suggest or a list of recent searches

For the WWDC, Apple indicated new features for iPhone OS with the arrival of the version 3.0, a price-cutting of iPhone and the launch of a new iPhone !

: ar: About the update 3.0 of iPhone OS, there are some new features such as :

- MMS function
- Landscape keyboard
- Spolight Search
- Safari improvements

The release date of iPhone OS 3.0 is scheduled for June 17. The update will be free for iPhone (for iPod Touch, it will cost $10).

Scheduled for June 19, iPhone 3G S keeps the same design than its predecessor iPhone 3G, but distinguishes oneself by :

- its speed (hence the "S" for Speed)

- the possibility to shoot video, edit it, and share it
- a built-in digital compass

Pricing is set at $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB , and in the same time, the price of iPhone 3G is reduced : it will be available at $99 for a capacity of 8 GB.

My highlight had to be the dig at Microsoft - I just love people who think so sanely!



No, I liked the OS 3.0 and 3G S stuff, and the look at Snow Leopard. And the new Macbook Pros.
