They appear and disappear like by magic ?

Just a little news to inform you that recently Stardock launched a new software in order to help you to better organize icons on your desktop : it is Fences.

Fences

Still in beta version, Fences allows you to sort and to class yours icons in different categories and into containers. You can give a name to each container, resize them, place them everywhere and even hide your icons when they're not in use, you can also double click your desktop, and all your icons will fade out, you double click again, and hup, they'll return.

Fences is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 and 64bits) and even for Windows 7 (32 and 64bits). This beta version will expire on August 31,2009, but Stardock says that Fences is free and will remain free, and they hope to have a Pro version with even more features.

So if you want to try Fences, you can click here to download it. And if you want more information about Fences, I invite you to go to this page.
