A gift from Google...

You like Speed Dial (display as small thumbnails of your favorites sites or of sites you have most visited) of Opera or Google Chrome, but you prefer using your favorite web browser Firefox.

Well, last Friday, Google announced that there were new features added in the version 5 beta of Google Toolbar.

Now, with this new version, when you open up a new tab, instead of the blank white page you see by default in Firefox, you will instead see small thumbnails of your favorite sites (up to 9) as well as recently-closed and bookmarked pages based on your browser history. You can also edit the thumbnails.

Google Toolbar

This option is activated by default after installing the update of Google Toolbar. If you prefer the blank white page of Firefox, you can disable this new tab page in Google Toolbar options (you have just to uncheck " Enable the Google new tab page " ).

Notice that there are already extensions for Firefox such as Speed Dial or Fast Dial which give you an easily access of your most visited websites. And remember, there are also two plug-ins which allow you to make Firefox 3.0 looks like Google Chrome : Chrome Package and Chromifox.
