After the release of the final version of Ubuntu 8.10, it's the turn of Fedora, operating system and platform based on Linux, developed by the Project Fedora and sponsored by Red Hat, to propose for download their latest version.

After 6 months of development and 20 days after the launch of the Release Candidate, the final version of Fedora 10 (code name Cambridge) is realized.



Very expected, Fedora 10 brings many bug fixes, new versions of some software, but also some new features :

- a new system boot : an accelerated boot and entirely graphic thanks to the replacement of RHGB by Plymouth
- Linux kernel 2.6.27
- the integration of Gnome 2.24, KDE 4.1 and desktop environment named LXDE and Sugar
- a new graphic theme called Solar
- the integration of the latest stable version of X.Org : X.Org 7.4
- Open Office version 3.0
- RPM 4.6, a major update to the powerful, flexible software management libraries
- SecTool , a new security audit and intrusion detection system
- supports 3G connections with the applet Network Management Network Manager 0.7
- better setup and use of printers through improved management tools
