so.simplis is the new name for
Vixta, result of a fusion between
Vixta, developped by A.Paulo Santos, and
simplis, project launched by Portuguese and Swiss IT Professors, IT Engineers and IT Students.
So, so.simplis is
a Linux distributions based on Fedora imitating the environment of Vista and of course, with some differences.
Free, Open Source and currently available in
English, Spanish and Portuguese, so.simplis uses KDE environment and Wine, and suggests many applications such as
Firefox web browser,
OpenOffice.org (an office suite like Microsoft Office),
Kaffeine (a media player),
Gimp,
K3b and
Amarok (a music player)...
Its interface is modeled on the Windows Vista Aero 3D interface where we can find taskbar, icons, widgets...
The new version of so.simplis brings some new features as support :

- eeePC
- AcerOne
Its installation is simple : after downloading
the ISO file, you burn it to a CD or a DVD and install it like a Windows operating system. This application is ideal for people accustomed to Vista and who want to learn Linux smoothness.
