Well, Google is preparing to update his online service and has recently published the beta version of Picasa 3.
Small recall for those who do not know much Picasa :
Picasa is a
free software, proposed by Google, which allow you to
manage, edit and share your photos digital , with Picasa Web Albums (a free service hosting online photo), easily.
It can automatically locate all your photos and sort them into visual folders organized by name, size, or date. Of course, you can choose to arrange your albums manually, rename your pictures and moved them by simple "drag and drop ".
You have also the possibility to make retouches and add effects on your photos via many tools such as crop, remove red eye, sharpness, saturation, black and white, sepia, etc.

The new version of Picasa offers many new features, notably Picasa Web Albums with
the integration of the function of automatic face recognition,
Name tags. By associating the name of a person with a photo of a face, Picasa is able to identify automatically in all your albums, photographs where there is a similar face, to gather them and we can make a slide show on this person.
