On the road to the SIGGRAPH 2008 !
The programs of tomorrow

It is today that begins the 35th international conference bringing together world experts on digital imaging : SIGGRAPH.
The SIGGRAPH or Special Interest Group in Graphics is the largest conference and exhibition dedicated to the the computer graphics and interactive techniques.
Organized annually by the AMC SIGGRAPH, it brings together many professionals, experts, but also new talents who reveal their research and progress in the domain of computer programming and graphics. It is also the opportunity for viewers to discover the latest prouesses made in digital imaging through short films, video clips, advertisements, movies...
Besides, recently I have talked about Luxo Junior.
Well, this first short film of Pixar was presented at the SIGGRAPH in 1986 in order to promote the skills of software developed by Pixar Studios: RenderMan.
As well as Theme Planet - Bunny animation, directed by Michael Sormann.
The 3D animation was presented at SIGGRAPH 2007 in San Diego to demonstrate the abilities of Autodesk Maya.
This year SIGGRAPH 2008 takes place in Los Angeles from 11 to 15 August 2008 for conferences, and from 12 to 14 August 2008 for exhibitions.
Until now, conferences were organized only in the United States. But, a new conference will also be held in Singapore from December 10, 2008, it will be the first SIGGRAPH in Asia !
