In the ears of each designer, a name resonates principally : Adobe.

The other solution it is Gimp. Free, he has the same purpose as Photoshop ... until now , it was necessary to make a long and painful quest in order to find free software, manageable, understandable and not too heavy.

But recently, echoes a name on the web : Aviary.



Aviary, what is it ?

It is neither more nor less a suite of software, used online or downloaded, coming soon. 18 programs are planned (all equipped with a bird name for the exotic effect):

- Peacock, creator of motives and patterns ;
- Raven, for vector creations ;
- Hummingbird, for the 3D ;
- Myna, an audio editor;
- Roc, a music generator;
- Starling, the video editor ;
- Owl, a desktop publishing tool ;
- Penguin, a Word online ;
- Pigeon (how graceful name ), is a painting simulator ;
- Tern a terrain generator ;
- Horus, a font editor ;
- Woodpecker, which resizes smart image using seam carving ;
- Rookery, which is a free, unlimited distributed file system network that anyone can connect to and store data in ;
- Hawk, which serves as a "digital marketplace", so it is a place to sell your creations ;
- Crane, a custom image product creator (logos...) ;
- And finally Eagle, which identifies digital cameras.

Aviary - do not rejoice us too quickly - is, however, accessible only in beta-test. Only 2 programs are testable, Phoenix and Peacock. Toucan and Raven are in alpha-test and other birds are only beginning to emerge from their eggs.
