Google launched a new version of their their famous software of management, retouching and sharing of digital photos :
Picasa 3.6.
For the moment it's available only in English for Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. This version brings some improvements for
name tags and
the import process. Google also implemented a few additional features that make it easier to share, organize, and customize your photos and they have added an option to
preserve original JPG compression quality when uploading to Picasa Web Albums.
A new functionnality appears : it's
the support of collaborative albums. Now you can download photo, videos and share them directly online with your friends via
their collaborative albums.
You can also add contributors to your collaborative albums, right from Picasa. You can add contributors when you're uploading photos or when you're sharing photos.
