The V2 of Google Chrome is lastly available in final version ! : party:

Well, since yesterday, a little over 8 months after its launch, and following many comments and requests of Chrome users, Google suggest a new version of their web browser.

Google Chrome

A version which is meant to be 30% faster, thanks to a new version of WebKit and an update to their JavaScript engine, V8, and more stable.

This new version brings many improvements, bugs fixes (more than 300) and some new features such as :

- Improved New Tab Page : you can remove the thumbnails from the New Tab page
-Full Screen Mode added : possibility to view your web pages in full screen mode
- Form Autofill added : it helps by showing information you've previously entered into the same form fields automatically. If at any point you want to clear out your information, that's easy to do from the Tools menu.
-etc. (for more, click here)

Google Chrome

Nothing revolutionnary, no interface change or the appearance of extensions, but Google Chrome makes, inch by inch and at its rythm, its nest in the world of web browsers, and tries to catch up with its competitors.

If you have never tested Google Chrome, and if you want to try this new version, I invite you to go here to download Google Chrome. If you're already using Google Chrome, you'll be automatically updated to this new version. ;)

It's nice to see Google devote itself so fully to Chrome, but let's face it: Firefox now has a majority that no other browser can compete with.

Chrome is nice. : yes: I think your argument about Firefox is completely irrelevant. (Almost) all Firefox users are 'switchers', and if Firefox doesn't improve it's speed very soon, they might switch to Safari or Chrome.

Also, Google said they weren't hunting for 'market share'. They just want to improve all browsers in general. (Because this will be handy when displaying adds, using Google Doc's, etc.)

Opera might have a small user base, they're responsible for lots of 'inventions' in the browser world. Soon adapted by a lot of other browsers.

Firefox's users might have been switchers before, but the majority now are the ones who, after years of complacency, finally switched to Firefox (i.e. common people). They won't switch from Firefox unless Chrome has something much more valuable to offer than just a minor boost in surf speed. ;)

I personally like Opera (especially its theme : loveit: ) but I use FF as well.

Opera is good, I used it a lot, but there were just a few little things here and there that annoyed me. Though I loved the speaking, if only it would work when I changed windows...

I also used Firefox, but in my opinion it was just so bloated and slow :/

Now I'm a devoted Chrome user : ) It's fast, simple, and looks b-e-a-utiful!

I won't even mention IE... ;)

Oh purlease! It looks like crap! If you want a good-looking one, go for Opera or Safari. : p

I am sorry, but minimalistic wins every time! : p

You don't even deserve to be on this site. Go back to IE 2.0 and Windows 95.

There's no minimalism in IE 2.0 anywhere to be found. ;)

I was alluding to graphics, a minimalistic style, I didn't mean a complete lack of them : p
