There's a real buzz about it on the net and you've probably already seen it !

Two years of works... Hundreds of voluntary workers... A production 100% amateur... With a budget of only £3000... The Hunt for Gollum, the long-awaited fan film, inspired by notes in the appendices from Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, was launched on May 3rd.



The Hunt for Gollum is a nice 40 minute film directed by Chris BOUCHARD (known to have composed and orchestrated music of Star Wars Revelations launched in 2005) with the help of more than hundred voluntary artists.



Created and imagined by fans who are earning no profit on it, The Hunt for Gollum is an independant and an unofficial film: it is in no way sponsored or approved by Tolkien Enterprises, the Tolkien Estate, Peter Jackson, New Line Cinema or any affiliates.





Through beautiful costumes, make-up and music, gorgeous landscapes... these fans of the universe of Tolkien have directed the Heir of Isildur, Aragorn, the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.

And meanwhile the arrival of The Hobbit which will be released in 2011, I suggest you to discover the trailer of another fan film called Born of Hope, a 60 minute film based on J.R.R. Tolkien's writings in the Appendices of the Trilogy. The story is set in the time before the War of the Ring and looks at the lives of the Dúnedain before the return of the king and primarily focuses on the relationship between Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn.




This film will be launched online in october 2009.
