Google launch a plug-in to discover O3D

3D in your web browser !

Geschrieben von Enigmatux der 22 April 2009 an 19h40 Quelle The O3D API Blog
Google Labs
Last month, Google joined, with Mozilla, the task group launched by Khronos to create an open, royalty-free standard for bringing accelerated 3D graphics to the Web. And recently, they announced that they made available an experimental plug-in allowing to use O3D.

O3D Google's API is an open-source JavaScript API (using the V8 engine found in the Chrome browser) for creating interactive 3D graphics applications (games, ads, virtual world...) in a web browser. Through a plug-in, provided by Google, developpers will be able to create 3D content, control objects, import files created using software as 3D Studio, Maya, Google SketchUp... and view them directly from your web browser.

Available for Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Camino under Windows, Mac OS X, but also Linux (with specific instructions), O3D doesn't match with the plug-in Canvas 3d JS Library, a technology like O3D developped by Mozilla.

Come on, here a video on O3D :

If you want more information about O3D, if you want discover some examples or download the plug-in for testing it, I invite you to follow this way.

Oh for Christ's sake!

Back on topic and not ripping at everything and anything and all those who clearly aren't as intelligent, or belligerent, as optimalsupreme...

This looks very good, and surprisingly powerful to say it's running in a browser - and relatively easy to start (with knowledge of web programming in general and java more specifically)

First thats blapshemy when u say what u said

Ok her is an example of 3d -going to a movie and it pounces out at u .-hence 3d.

3D (three-dimensional) graphics are represented in three dimensions: width, depth, and height.

This is, however, a distortion of the truth as 3D computer graphics are really a two-dimensional representation of a virtual three-dimensional world.

this is my point i post fcts and some refuse to lern and call names or erase the fcts as they dont ant them up.

this guy should be banned for starting a flame war. iget it though it who u think should stay and at that point u arent thinking

It no wonder you dont know anything u dont know the facts and resfuse to learn hence a fool - another example of being a fool is name calling which u are famous for.

so in sumary u are showing ur are a FOOL

HERE ENDTH THE LESSON

Oh boy. You're even dumber than we thought. Ghost knew what you meant, as did I. We both know what three-dimensional means, literally put. We've all seen Spy Kids 3D, as much as we despise it ... and we've all been to Disney World or some other theme park.

He was angry because you think that you have the right to correct every single thing that is said on these forums, and frankly ... it's annoying. Now why do you not correct me? In the last few lines, I said:
He was angry because you think that you have the right to correct every single thing that is said on these forums
See, we know that, technically, I am wrong; as nothing has been said on these forums, every post has been typed -- but we choose to ignore such petty flaws, the same way you should ignore the fact that it isn't "true" 3D.

Funny how you accuse him of name-calling, all the while calling him a fool.

So in summary, you are showing you're a FOOL.

Here endeth the lesson.

PS: Yes, there is an e in "endeth".

PPS: If there were an icon for "rolls eyes", I would use it right now.

Ok,

Firstly I am a christian and I don't find that to be blasphemy. I'm sure God understands how stressed I am.

Secondly a 3D movie is not real 3D, merely a 2D virtualisation of a 3D environment (and they're not that good either).

And, yes I do know that a computer produces a 2D virtualisation of a 3D environment - I'd be worried for anyone that didn't. I am also perfectly aware of the three dimensions that make the 3 dimensional world, and as a side note well aware of the 12 dimensions currently believed to exist within space (and time for that matter), and I know the facts (and probably to a deeper extent than you)

And you are one for name calling; "FOOL". And note, reading through my post, I haven't specifically called you any names.

I would point out the fact you not only have poor typing skills, but also can't spell "endeth", but Uttaresh beat me to it.

see ull never learn the facts/truth because the moderator isa Socialist Pig -wont allow the facts and any expression of telling u how things where meant to be said so Ill post this again and again

yeah take it off ill post the facts again:

Thisis why this industry sucks people like u dont what others to know the facts:

photoshop as it is the most powerful tool and most of the stuff such as gaming, which is what I prefer is done with photoshop and maya or other software the like.

Wrong its not. there are many others. 90% are on the Amiga -Lightwave- ImageFX -Brillance-Delux paint IV AGA-Its simply the best

For windows there is Photoimpact cheaper better and can use the same plugins -it faster to do stuff also. Corel bought it for that reason

Rember if Adobe is so good why do they allow fireworks to contiune -because it rocks.
