Personalize Windows 7 from Microsoft website

Just a little news to inform users testing out the Windows 7 beta, the new operating system of Microsoft, that you can personalize your PC by downloading some themes (which change wallpaper, windows color, sounds, icons, screen saver), wallpapers, desktop gadgets, Sideshow gadgets. : )

If you have Windows 7, you can access directly from your desktop (right click desktop, then select Personalize) to your Personalization Control Panel where an option Get more themes online is available. By selecting this option, you will be automatically directed via your web browser on a Microsoft page devoted to Windows 7 's personalization, and so you can download :

- 15 themes : Butterfly, College of Fine Arts, Rocky Seashore...

- 13 desktop backgrounds : Arches Natural Park, Azaleas, Trave in Lübeck...

Windows 7 wallpapers


- 8 desktop gadgets : Date and Time, Traffic by Live Search Maps, System Monitor, Outlook Upcoming Appointements...

- 5 Sideshow gadgets: Stocks, Feed Viewer, Office PowerPoint Remote, Office Outlook Gadgets, Picture Viewer (beta)

Of course, for the moment, there is nothing really extraordinary, but as Microsoft said (at the bottom of the site) :
Information about Windows 7 is preliminary and subject to change. Themes and wallpapers provided during this beta release are for testing purposes only. A greater selection will be available at the time of final release of Windows 7.

So, meanwhile that Microsoft give us other themes, wallpapers... you can click on this link in order to discover this new section (or directly from your desktop for Windows 7 users), but also in CrystalXP's gallery where you will find a pack containing Windows 7 wallpapers suggested by Microsoft.

Sounds like Microsoft may have listened to the bazillion people trying to find how they can hack vista to make it look half decent : )
