This preview may seem like Pixalised because the original bmps required are very small in pixal number

hi thx for the bmp,but i've got a problem with the bmp.
When i want to replace the 130 bmp no problem but with the 124 problem as the screen.

Is this message comes after you hit replace button?? Anyway I'll do some tests on that and give u an update

Well, that's strange I've the same problem. but the message won't arrise in default crystal clear type. May be it's a problem with some properties of the bmp. I'm checking them now

Edit:* Ok! I've got it that was a problem with the bmp. Reshacker only accepts 24bit bmps for subdirectory 124. and the bmp 124 is 32bit So I've change the bit to 24 and no problem ever.
So convert your 124.bmp to a 24bit one (you can use Photoshop or even paint ) Just open the 124.bmp in the program and choose 'Save as' there select 24bit bitmap from the drop down menu below (in paint) or select save as a bitmap type and select OK in the next window of bmp options select 24bit instead of 32bit (photoshop)
 I hope this will sort the thing

I interress also with this bmp. to install it, it should be done in mode without failure (f8 with the demarrage). Thank you neil, you do good work and quickly (not like me). Here a tutoriel for the installation for those who don't know how to do : in French (thanks to TwEsQ) and English (thanks to Didas)  

And if you have a pack like inspirat or vista icon VIP_v2 (like me), i think its betters you uninstall all and return to a basic windows xp.

I don't think uninstalling the shell pack is necessary if you're saying it is . If not I think you're right

And the red letters should be like I'm interested isn't it?? And also I assume you're saying that 'the best way to modify this .dll is Safe mode (press F8 when windows startup)'

Yes ... the transparency between pics in the BMP are importand  

Oops! It seems like I've to re-edit the bmps. Btw angelparadise or Breakfastclub could you please send me oune of your default bmps for comctl32.dll (not the bmps by dlb.so I can understand which color is used by windows to affect as transparence because we cannot really use a png for this action because wa cannot replace a system bmp with them. So it'll be a great if you send them (I don't think that windows is using its default transparent color here which is R255, G0, B255.

Edit:*And of course it'll be ok if you just give me the number of the color in RGB format or # format

An btw I'll also test them in my computer just to make sure the color which is needed for the transparency

Well, never mind I've found them myself .
 The default trensparency color used in these bmps is RGB-192 (#cOcOcO) I've run few tests and came up with this, but there is a slight and sensitive work left.

In the mean time try to color your bmp background with that transparent color and see then what happens.

And btw, I've got this change only for old application softwares which meanI didn't get this bmp modified every place it should be. So I need to run another tests regarding that also. In the mean time do you know about any other .dll (except comctl32.dll) which'll manage these appearence??

You mean transparency with BMP`s ?

A lot of DLL uses bmp`s with transparency:

msoeres.dll (outlook-folder), bmp-ressource 27/28/38 and 47 are the outlook-toolbar-icons

shell32.dll (\windows\system32\, bmp-ressource 204/205/206/207 are explorer-toolbar-icons

and I think some more

Today, I tried to make a bmp but the result is ugly. In a Windows theme I found bmp and they all were with a magenta background.
