seems I can't even download this utility, for a site that concentrate's it's style towards visual design, the website navigation is pretty pathetic to say the least, when you can't even download it, it is saying something towards the program, no ability to download = bugs within the program as the quality of the site reflects the quality of the program.

You seriously need to look at not only the design of your site to attract customers, but the accesibility of the site as well for use to be able to download your software.

Sorry to put a damper on the site design, but this is something that people swear by as well.

When you get a message such as -

ERREUR: le fichier ['ftp://customxp.net/packsv3/rc1/654831154/Pack_Crystal_XP_3.0_RC1.exe'] n'est pas disponible en téléchargement.

when trying to download the actual utility is not saying much for the program, you seriously need to revamp this site if you intend on furthering your product to the destkop user.

Hi OveriIT...
what a comment... first of all, try to manage your browser, I'm sure that something such as a firewall provides you from downloading anything on a FTP.

CrystalXP is Not a forum, it' a whole website. Many things are available to download, change your parameters and download them before critisizing.

thanks in advance.

"CrystalXP is Not a forum, it' a whole website. Many things are available to download, change your parameters and download them before critisizing."

Sorry but it has nothing to do with my firewall, I have download many programs from many sites that have ftp access and I have no problems at all, I notice many links on your page points to a local drive instead of a web based location, for example -

-------------------------------
21-11-04 - CrystalXP BricoPack and Didas Milk
BricoPack, the revolutionary Multilanguage Shell Pack for all Windows XP is now available on CrystalXP.net !!

All information about this Pack here

Special thanks to Bricomix for his hard and wonderful work on the installer of this Shell Pack

A great new icon set is also available : Didas Milk
Thanks to didas for his work !
------------------------------------

if you check the links, they point to -

file:///E|/Sites%20Internet/CrystalXP.net/Copie%20(2)%20de%20www/ShellPack.htm

When you click the link, nothing happens, this seems to occur all over this site, not only the forum but your main site as well. I was very frustrated as I haven't had any other problems with any other site except this one.

Sure my last comment may have been harsh, but the end result is customer satisfaction, if there is a customer unhappy with the site then the owner of the site should review thier links and site layout, not put it back onto the customer when the customer knows what he is doing and it is blatently obvious that there are links that are not working on this site. Normally a webmaster (as I am one myself) reviews ALL links and fixes problem links before going live, maybe this should be done here.

I do admit, the style of the site is good, the quality of the site is good, but the background processing of links and downloadable programs etc should be reviewed. As a free world, I have the right to criticize anything I want, especially when the end result affects the result that I am trying to achieve.

Good or bad criticism should be taken on board, not knocked down if bad because you do not like what my complaint was in the first place.

I agree with you on many points, but our website is moving from a static version to a dynamic one... that's why a few links can be broken, sometimes...

my answer may have been too excessive, but your post seemed to be more than a simple criticism. :pen:

Fair enough, I appeared to be a bit abrupt and I apologise for this, but when you have problems such as I did trying to download something that should have been a simple click and download, and constantly getting error messages, it escalates the problem and thus creating a bigger problem.

I understand how time consuming and quality maintaining a site is, believe me, I really do know as I do this everyday of my life, I just feel that when you have customers viewing the outcome of the site live, then you need to ensure that it is correct the first time before posting the site to the public, if you feel that it is going to cause problems, then review it before going live, fix any errors that you know are going to occur then post the complete site.

My comments were a complaint, not a criticisim as such, i only elevated the criticism remark from your remark in return. Beyond all this, I still haven't downloaded the software/theme etc, I am sure that your programs are fantastic, there is no doubt about it from the remarks made in the forum from other users, but as a first time user that first entered your site, and the inability to download the software only made it more frustrating, and as a person that has never tried your software etc, this kind of turned me off using the software. Isn't this the point of your site, to give accessibility to those users who wish to try out your product.

Again, I apologise for my harsh comments, frustration did get the better of me, however, I feel that I have raised some very strong valid points here in this discusion.

and the whole team apologizes for this disagreaments...
we do know that it's really boring to find broken links and missing images, but if you search for such a problem on this forum, you'll see that we try to fix them all, all the time. (only pictures missing come often from imageshalk)

At the beginning, this website was created for the shell pack, and only for it. but as you can see, its style and feeling have made it grow up to a "not so small website ; that's why we have had to move it to a website hoster...
and this movement is still in progress, this is the main reason explaining these problems, and I thank you for the report :jap:

I hope you'll have time to DL our shell pack or any other creation :he:
never hesitate to give us your comments :great:
(now that we know that you always tell the Truth, and directly  )

Well I have finally downloaded the software, installed it and must say how impressed I am with it, the change in look has been a very nice refreshing change, previously I had used the Longhorn Transformation pack but found that to be full of bugs and resource consuming, however, your product does appear to be excellent eye candy and yet easy on the resources.

Congratulations on a job well done.

Yeah i do express my opinions openly which is good in many a way but sometimes can be a bit disheartening on sites that are trying their hardest to get things going right. I must learn to curve my frustations a little when posting on a public forum.

I commend you now on your honesty and dedication to making this product and your site much better for the future.

Have a great 2005.      :mdr:
