Some new features for 4.6:

- RSS
 
I've been working on a RSS gadget that works with just about any feed (Atom and RSS). The RSS gadgets in 4.5 (CrystalXP, BBC, NYT, CNN) are going to be replaced with RSS 1, 2, and 3 (like with the Weather gadgets). The RSS gadgets will also feature a configuration tool with which you'll be able to enter the URL and name of the given RSS feed.  
 
I've tested many feeds and they all seem to work!
 
- Media Player
Will support iTunes and Winamp in addition to WMP.
 
RC1 of 4.6 is going to be available soon.

Would something like this be of any use (when you click on a feed, the larger box opens and has the feed body in it..? The problem is that if the feed has HTML, then it'd display the HTML code as well..
 

 
Maybe I'll should just add an extra version of the RSS skin with this..

I was just wondering if you were aware of any display changes when installing this. Was just weird because right when it finished installing, my font appearance changed. Became more fuzzy. I wouldn't see how this program would cause anything like that, but was wondering if I was missing something. I've uninstalled it, but when it didn't help, I reinstalled it. I've been able to improve the quality some, so I will continue using it. Thanks,

VR does not change any display settings, it only installs the Segoe and Calibri fonts. (Is the problem related to those fonts, or are other fonts -- Tahoma, Arial, etc. -- also affected).

I forgot to mention I've tried ClearType tuner. It improved the quality to probably 90%, so I wasn't going to bring it up. It affects all my fonts as far as I can tell. I already had Segoe installed and using it in my WindowBlinds before using Rainbar. It's only a small issue. Only wanted to see if there was something I was missing. But I'll continue using it and am looking forward to the next release.

I just found a bug with the Weather gadget, which probably caused your problems.. I fixed it now, so your problems should be solved after 4.6

Yes, it was false It is a permanent problem (with 4.5). It will be fixed on 4.6.

I just got back into customization (I used to be big into litestep back in the day,) and I'm looking around at what's what nowadays, found your Vista Rainbar, and I really like it. I had posted a question/comment here...

Also, I notice in the latest release that I downloaded from http://koti.welho.com/legace/ , when you click on "get more gadgets" (bottom right) or "search all gadgets" (top right) in the gadgets selection window, nothing happens...the only other button on that window for "show details" does work, but none of the other buttons or that form do anything...If there are other gadgets that are available for the Rainbar, I'd love to check them out, but where are they?
 
Hello, I just recently tried out Vista rain bar, and I quite like it, but one bug I did notice is that the Recycle Bin does not function completely according to the description of its gadget.
 
When I first tried to use it, I BELIEVE it DID work, where a left click brings up the Recycle bin folder and a right click hold emptys the Recycle bin.
 
But what I did was....I wanted to remove the windows recycle bin on the desktop, so I went to GROUP POLICY, like this site shows....

and removed the Recycle Bin from desktop. The reason Why I did this is because I wanted to use the Vista Rainbar Recycle bin instead...but now, even when i left click on the Vista Rain bar Recycle bin gadget, nothing happens.
 
I don't know if this is because of the change I made in GROUP POLICY, but it is kind of frustrating.
Also, I notice that you cannot drag items into the Vista Rainbar Recycle bin to delete them...Might it be nice if you could do this?
 
Anyways...any help on fixing this would be greatly appreciated...perhaps there is a different way to get red of the "windows" recycle bin so this will not happen?

The "Search all gadgets" does not do anything (a Rainmeter limitation). The "Get more gadgets" link does not work on 4.5, but will work on 4.6
 

Right-clicking the menu will empty the Recycle Bin. In 4.6, middle-clicking the Recycle Bin will empty it.

Well, its too bad that you cant drag items into the rainbar's recycle bin... I am very used to  using the desktop recycle bin to delete items...perhaps there might be a workaround to enable that functionality?
 
But that is not that big of a deal, as long as we can figure out why when I LEFT CLICK the rainbar recycle bin, NOTHING HAPPENS....can you think of any reason this might happen? and perhaps think of a way to fix it?
 
I have uninstalled Vista Rainbar and then reinstalled it, but that did not fix the problem...I will try to re-enable the "windows" recycle bin and then test the Rain Bar recycle bin to see if that resolves the issue...but then the thing I will have to figure out is  how to remove the "windows" recycle bin from the desktop in a manner that does not interfere with the Rainbar functionality...
 
Do you understand what the problem is that I am describing? Any ideas on a fix?
 
So in 4.6, the get more gadgets link will work...but right now, is there a place to obtain more gadgets? or do we have to wait for the new release for any new gadgets anyways...?

Double-click (LEFT) -> Open Recycle Bin
Right-click on menu (with the X and arrow) -> Empty Recycle Bin
 

Vista Rainbar is basically a customized version of Rainmeter. You can get skins for Rainmeter from http://www.deviantart.com/#catpath [...] er&order=9
The skins must be extracted into My Documents\Rainmeter\Skins. You can activate the skins by right-clicking the tray icon -> Configs.. Remember to restart Rainmeter (or click Refresh All) for the new skins to appear under Configs.

Vista Rainbar 4.6 RC2 is available. This will most likely end up being the final 4.6 release if no bugs are found.

Major changes from RC1:
- Mail (POP/IMAP) gadget removed, because it caused too much problems
- Gallery is now ordered IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER!
- Added (RED) gadgets
- Installer now asks if you want to remove the Enigma skins.
- Also fixed various bugs (RC2 should be pretty bug-free)
 
It is reccomended to remove RC1 before RC2 (not neccessary, though).
