I'm working on adding Windows 7 stuff into Vista Rainbar. I just finished making the new Windows 7-like pop-up menu for the Antique clock gadget. It's much bigger now, so it'll be much easier to click on the buttons

 
If I have the time and motivation, I'll also update the Slideshow gadget and add a larger version of the CPU gadget (screenshots below from Win7):

I'll have to edit all skins manually, so RC2 won't be released any time soon (maybe next week-end?)

Its a feature of Windows 7 , which i wanted to have since version 4.
 
Moreover , i think that there shld be option to disable sidebar (i know it can be activated from gallery , but to disable it , there shld be a button/option) . Lastly , a ipaddress weather gadget would definitely serve an awesome purpose , though it may be hard to code..
 
Anyways , desperately waiting for the next release with windows 7 like gadgets

 
I use WIN XP, with WIN7 i do not need the Vista rainbar...

 
Vista Rainbar 4.3/4.4/4.5 is a copy of the Vista sidebar and its gadgets. Vista Rainbar 4.5.1 will have features of the Windows 7 gadgets
 

You can still use the small CPU gadget with 4.5.1 final If you press the + icon, the larger CPU gadget will open

4.5.1 is going to be renamed to 4.6 as there will be a lot of under-the-hood changes. The end-user (you) won't notice much, but I'm going to edit every single INI file to be as compact as possible.
 
For example, the Weather INI file that I'm working on now was about 28KB on 4.5.0.x. On 4.6, it'll be around 24KB. Yes, that's only 4KB, but everything counts.
 
Also, the updated skins will use relative paths for the images. So instead of having multiple copies of a same .PNG file, there will be only one in a folder called shared. This will make the skins MUCH smaller. For example, a Vista Rainbar 4.5.0.x has 9 instances of a file called ButtonUp.png. The 9 files weigh a total of 36KB. With the relative paths only one of those files is required. So, instead of 36KB, you'll only need to use 4KB! That is 1/9 of the size.  
 
If we were to use the 1/9 to the size of the Vista Rainbar folder in My Documents, 13MB would become only 1.4MB. That is probably a little too low, but you get the point.
 
In addition to all that, Vista Rainbar 4.6 is going to be the final major of Vista Rainbar. I'll probably continue to release bug fix versions every now and then (if needed), so you might see 4.6.0.1 or 4.6.0.2 in the distant future, but I doubt I'll ever make 4.6.1+ or 4.7.. I think that once Vista Rainbar 4.6 out, Vista Rainbar will have met all the goals Gavatx (the original developer of Vista Rainbar) sought for

I am not sure if the Rainmeter devs have fixed that issue. 4.6 will use an updated version of Rainmeter, so the bug might've been fixed..

This is a really nice program, but one thing, I cant seem to get the weather to work (I'm in the United States)

 
What ZIP code values did you enter in the weather configuration utility? And where exactly do you live (so that I can check if the ZIP values are correct).
 
Also, are you sure you're running the latest [stable] version of Vista Rainbar (4.5.0.7)?

Hi. When I try and install this, it says I either have to download the zip or uninstall Rainmeter. But I can't find a zip version of the 4.5 version. Otherwise, I'll just uninstall Rainmeter. Also, with 4.3 it never saved my settings. I'd have several gadgets but after closing and relaunching, only the Slideshow one appeared. I'll take a look at the ReadMe, but thought I'd ask since I was here. Thank you for all your work.

What version of VR are you using? What do you have as ZIP #1 and #2?

i got it to work when you click the help section the html it brings you to should say for US users just enter your zip
 
would save lots of headaches
