Hi, I am running Windows Crystal Xp on my pc with the Crystal XP BricoPack; today I tried to install a webcam on my pc and got the following message:

Quote :

setup.exe - Illegal System DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory.  The application will not run properly.  The relocation occured because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs.  The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

When I googled the error I read the following:

Quote :

we got this error message because a theme pack was installed on the computer such as BricoPacks, Crystal Clear or any of the other items available at CrystalXP. It modified the shell32.dll and made it more than 8KB in size. When certain setup.exe applications detect this, it fails with this error.

Is there a patch or fix to this problem? or how can I get around this? any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The easiest way is to uninstall the KB925902 update for Windows through the Control Panel. This will, however, leave your system vulnerable to remote code execution..
