Ok first off I'm kind of pissed off. I installed Bricopack Vista Inspirate on my xp x64 system. Everything went smoothly, rebooted then wham. Nothing, no desktop icons no taskbar no explorer.exe

Now i'm not going to argue why the Bricopacks don't warn you before installation that it is not compatible with xp x64, like itunes does for example....
Nor why it doesn't cancel the installation so you don't make my mistake...

I'm here to find out what I can do to get my system back in order.

System Restore is turned off on all my drives, not an option.
Tried uninstalling Bricopack to no avail.

I'm an advanced user, not afraid of regedit and willing to dig deep to replace files in my windows folder. Just let me know what I need to do to revert everything the bricopack altered, get my taskbar back, desktop icons and explorer.exe for x64...

Help?

I guess a repair install is your only shot.

I agree, it would be useful to have a compatibility checker on VI. But, you should always read what it says on the installer pages.. :/

I'm not going to bother with a repair install...

I'm half way there to fixing it.

I reinstalled sp2... But explorer takes a while to boot up on a reboot and it wont save my theme that I set before it, it will load up with windows classic!!! So if anyone can help me figure out what registry keys need to be deleted and adjusted, big thanks.

I also just changed my registry shell setting from explorer.exe to C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\explorer.exe

Hopefully that works well
