My Moms PC's Startbar disappeared, whenever i restart explorer (task manager> Run> Explorer.exe) the bar is back momentarily
 
then it disappears, i have tried Crtl+ESC
 
any ideas?

Is the Antivirus programm of that Pc is updated?

Try system restore (restore to a point without the problem).
 
From taskmgr: %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Antivirus is fine and restore is not working
 
anyway i got a fix, it was Windows update (Auto (stupid mom told her that would bring grief) ) it flickered as i said, then i got it up (for about 4sec then it will disappear) so i locked the task-bar and it is now working
 
any ideas of what might of caused this or is it just another reason to get ubuntu or mac?
