Last message on previous page:
by patching the UXTheme.dll, you get the right to install a MS style.
you just have to double click on the.msstyle file :great:

Try different UXTheme Patchers.  :oui:
Sometimes one works and the other one doesn't.
But it's not allways the same that works.  :he:

Funny, mine seemed to work ok, mind you I'm not using a BricoPack.  You may be onto something here Neil...

Yes :oui:
because you don't need to use a multipatcher if you are using a bricopack
If you use the patch after installing a bricopack, It'll undo the patching and you'll be unable to apply 3rd party themes

But as Xorios said, there are some multipatchers which will not work as same for every one so If you are pacthing the .dll without a bricopack, use diffeernt patches and find the suitable one for you

I have a question in regard to patching.  I'm planning on doing a destructive recovery on my machine and I will need my system patched again so I can use my visual styles.  I heard that TuneUp utilites styler will patch my system for me.  I have the 2006 version, anyone here ever patched their system using TuneUp?

I think TuneUp will patch it. You can also use Uxtheme multipatcher.

Ive seen talk of this patch everywhere, but just exactly how do you apply it?  Is it a simple executable file that just requires a click or is it more involved, as in putting it into something and making all types of changes with the keyboard?  That's why I'm hoping TuneUp will do the job, I'm sure that won't be more involved than a click of the mouse.  I get nervous about screwing things up when you have to place something here and there and worst yet, have to change file extensions, etc.

Yes, it`s an installer that only change one file (2 seconds and 1 reboot) ...

It`s very simply and secure  :great:
