To patch UXTHEME Manually here's the method I recommend: Click "Start" ---> "Run" and enter "%systemdrive%".  This will open the drive where Windows is installed (usually c.  Create a new folder here called "uxtheme".
  Download the correct UXTHEME patch for your edition of Windows into the "uxtheme" folder. 
Windows XP SP1 users should use this patch
Windows Server 2003 (RTM) users should use this patch
  If you are using any other edition or version of Windows (e.g Windows XP SP2) you must not use the patch I posted there.  It will not work and will mess up your Windows
  Now open Notepad and paste the following text into your window:

  Now restart your computer, but boot into "Safe Mode".  To do this you need to press F8 key on your keyboard.  Tap the F8 key from the time the BIOS screen has passed until you see a menu.  On this menu, select the option which reads "Safe Mode with Networking".
  Logon to Windows in Safe Mode and navigate to the UXTHEME folder.  You can do this by following step 1.  Execute the "uxtheme.cmd" file.  It has an icon like this: . 
You should see a black, command prompt screen with various things appearing on-screen.  Once the patching procedure has finished the computer will automatically restart in 15 seconds.  Let the computer boot to Windows and then you have successfully patched UXTHEME and will be able to use modified Visual Styles.I hope that helps you with the UXTHEME patching procedure.  Please report any problems you may experience here, and I will attempt to fix them for you.

Have you tried the patch for win xP professional SP1, then it should work. Usually people say as it works for some and for some it wont work
