legace Profil: Moderator | I disagree. My HDD read/write speeds are much higher than the speed of my SanDisk Cruzer memory stick. I personally think ReadyBoost sucks And of course, RAM is the fastest, but then again, Windows does try to use most of the RAM before starting to store files on HDD. Are you serious with this: "a fast dvd can sometimes be as fast as accessing ram" How the hell are you going to use a DVD drive as a storage? And RAM is much, much faster than storing stuff on DVD (I dont get how you do it, but anyway.)

I agree with Legace, how the heck have you managed to achieve that?
Dark_RAIDEN_ Profil: Big Penguin | when did i say that?? i only said that it is the fastest thing behind RAM. not in front of RAM. but hey it depends, some RAM are really slow y'know. theres lots of types of RAM

You said that on Page 1. Lol, I guess you need a computer 20 years old for the RAM to be that slow.. And DVD is not the fastest thing behind RAM. The HDD/SCSI drives usually come after it, and then USB disks.. How can you possibly write/read temp data from a DVD? I think that is impossible.
Dark_RAIDEN_ Profil: Big Penguin | hey! u can get special DVD discs you know for RAM. In theory, usb sticks like my Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2GB should reach speeds of 480mb/s, but i dont think that would ever happen...

actually, its not 12% free. you can configure it to 50% or 40% etc.
legace Profil: Moderator | -.- What would you use the slow HDD when you have 50% free RAM?!
Dark_RAIDEN_ Profil: Big Penguin | yeah, well actually it pages some background services so yeah, sometimes you use page-file even if you've got RAM left sometimes.
God Of Mana Profil: Penguin | The sad thing is that Xp also has this almighty "Ready Boost Function" Right click My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Performance-Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory-Change Betcha feel silly right about now. Just more proof that Vista is unnecessary. Enjoy Xp Users

Oh, dear... this is not the same thing as Ready Boost. This caches data on your HDD.
