I disagree. My HDD read/write speeds are much higher than the speed of my SanDisk Cruzer memory stick.
I personally think ReadyBoost sucks

And of course, RAM is the fastest, but then again, Windows does try to use most of the RAM before starting to store files on HDD.

Are you serious with this: "a fast dvd can sometimes be as fast as accessing ram"
How the hell are you going to use a DVD drive as a storage? And RAM is much, much faster than storing stuff on DVD (I dont get how you do it, but anyway.)

You said that on Page 1.
Lol, I guess you need a computer 20 years old for the RAM to be that slow..

And DVD is not the fastest thing behind RAM. The HDD/SCSI drives usually come after it, and then USB disks..
How can you possibly write/read temp data from a DVD? I think that is impossible.

hey! u can get special DVD discs you know for RAM.

In theory, usb sticks like my Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2GB should reach speeds of 480mb/s, but i dont think that would ever happen...

Its only paging memory, the computer uses it when its low on ram (ie) less than 12% free
It only ups back your performance when it is about to lag, or when it is close to...

actually, its not 12% free. you can configure it to 50% or 40% etc.

What would you use the slow HDD when you have 50% free RAM?!

yeah, well actually it pages some background services so yeah, sometimes you use page-file even if you've got RAM left sometimes.

Oh, dear... this is not the same thing as Ready Boost.
This caches data on your HDD.
