Created by the Stardock Team, this software is a copy of the Mac Toolbar
Stuck to one of the edges of your screen, you can add shorcuts of applications, folders and even a small icon with the weather of your city.

http://didas.net/CrXP/retest.gif

A little representation of objectdock in action.

http://didas.net/CrXP/Appreciate.png
The practical aspect of this soft (shorcuts always accessible)
Easy to add shorcuts by drag 'n' dropping them into the bar
The choice of many backgrounds avalaible on the web
We can change the icon and put a PNG of you choice, easily
No much ressources needed, if you don't have to many items in the dock

http://didas.net/CrXP/regret.png
The fact that Objectdock Plus! has become a software instead of a freeware (Objectdock normal is still free but not ObjectDock plus!;)
The option that could allow to have the bar anywhere expect on the edges of screen Doesn't exist
The difficulty of creating a new background

there are many soft like Objectdock, just to mention somes:
:ar: Y'z Dock wich is know as the best (ressources, crashing) but the code looks too similar to the one use with mac OS so his distribution is now forbidden.
:ar: MobyDock have more option than objectdock but is not as stable. And doesn't have update anymore.

:info: and more...
All icons avalaible in our download sections work perfectly with this soft, as all the tux from our tux factor.

:great: Created by Stardock team, ‘Object Dock’ is one of the fabulous utilities for your Windows. You can get the latest version of it at http://www.stardock.com or if you have a bricopack Vista Inspirat, Longhorn Inspirit or Crystal XP shell pack you already have it.

:oui: If you don’t see it in your desktop screen, you just have to navigate to something like start>all programs>Bricopacks>Vista inspirat >Object Dock>Enable Object Dock.

:wink:Object dock’ is not just a good enhanced replacement for your Windows XP built-in task bar, it also give much ability to add your desires to it. Listed below are few of them.

 By default, Object dock comes with 10 docklets (My Computer, Dock Settings, My Documents, Help, My Pictures, My Music, Media Player, e-mail, internet explorer & Recycle bin)

  :penguin: *Add a New…

:oui: You can add any new docklet resembling a path to your favorite application or software .exe. All you have to do is this,

 Right-click on an empty area of the dock and navigate Add>New Shortcut. A new docklet will appear on the skin in no time. Then all you have to is to right-click the docklet & go to “Dock Entry Properties” and there you can decide the name (title) for the new docklet & then you have to browse for the execution (.exe) file of the application you want to link to the docklet.

:great: *And also on the right of the dock entry window you can change the representative icon for your docklet just select ‘Change image’ and select any icon or .png file from the explorer menu folders or browse for your own made .png. And also you can also change the images and titles for above default docklets in the same manner. The specialty in here is that the ‘Object dock’ uses both .ico & .png files for docklet images

  :penguin: *Had Enough…?

 If you are tired of having a docklet in the “Object dock”, well you can just remove it from the list. You can either select “Remove Entry” by right-clicking it or just dragging it out of the dock surface. Then the unnecessary docklet is gone.

  :penguin: *Built in enhancements…

:oui: Also Object Dock has some built-in enhanced docklets. You can find them by navigating to Dock settings>Docklets there you’ll see a Simple Animation Docklet, Clock, Weather Docklet & a Web search Docklet you can select the appropriate one and then click “add” to apply it in to the dock.

  :penguin: *Object Dock Properties…

In dock settings, there are several categories for you,

  :xeyes: Appearance>>>

In here, you can select the size of the Object dock and also its magnified size. And below, you can select position for it to appear in the screen and also to “auto hide” along with a background selection drop down list of course with the transparency bar.

  :xeyes: Appearance Tweaks>>>

Here, there are options for you to change Attention & Mouse-over effects, running indicators & the font face & size of the titles.

:xeyes: Docklets>>> (Mentioned under Built-in Enhancements)

  :xeyes: Dock Contents>>>

You can change The Dock’s Task bar Options & Running Applications’ Indicator options.

##And also here you can hide your Windows’ Task bar by checking “Hide the windows task bar” on.

  :xeyes: Performance Tweaks>>>

Under this you can customize the performances of the Object dock like Magnification & Auto hide.

:jap:  :xeyes: When you go to Dock Properties, you’ll see a check box which below all the other saying “Load Object Dock on Startup” this will allow you to decide whether the dock should start with Windows or not.

:great:  :great: Going on a similar path with Object Dock, Rocket Dock1.1.3 is the latest type of dock available for you in the net. You can find it in Punk software http://www.punksoftware.com  also you can buy the Object Dock Plus by visiting http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

:loveit:  Object dock Plus has many more features waiting just for you Here are some of them.
Tabbed DocksMultiple DocksSystem Tray      SupportFlat-Out MenusVastly improved      user interfaceCustom icons      for system tray iconsSmart Edge      dockingTask bar      groupingMulti monitor      supportAnd tons of      other customization features   :oui: You can get more information at http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

:great: So enjoy using Object Dock…and also Object Dock Plus:oui:  :great:

unfortunely I absolutely HATE object dock. It is the biggest dock program I've ever seen, it eats up memory like there's no tomorrow, and it's basically a company that's looking for profit.

Even Y'z dock is a better alternative to object dock....but much better than that is Rocket Dock (if you are planning to have one installed) or RK Launcher (as a portable one) :happy2:

Hi all I'm a new user and I have a question:
I have downloaded the BricoPacks Vista and I like very much the ObjectDock bar.
The only problem is with weather icon.....in the weather setting I can put a ZIP or Country code but it never run, I can see always "Weather Information Unavaible"!!!! Why???? whare is the problem? My town ZIP Code is 42100 but it doesn't work (but I tried also with London or New York code and it doesn't work never!;)
What can I do???
Thanks very much!

ps: there is the possibility to download new program (as this weather utility or Google utility than I can found on my ObjectDock bar..) to add at the bar? Can you link it to me?

Bye bye
RIccardo
