How did you install it in the first place? It should check your system configuration...

I must be very stupid because I really can't get this to work.
 
Every visual-style I download off of this page is extended as ".msstyle" instead of the required ".theme" and is a so-called windows-layouttypefile instead of a themefile. So... What gives? I used the Uxtheme patcher and followed the (simple) instructions here, but it does state that I should have a Shell-folder along with a windows themefile. So why do I have layoutfiles?

Also the VistaGS you posted actually. Which should mean that I'm doing something wrong... Or more specifically my computer does something wrong

Copy the VistaGS folder from your desktop to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes.
Then, check your Appearance settings and you should have the new theme.

 
Aaand I mention again. I already did follow your previous instructions, so naturally I have done what you mentioned before. I know you're only trying to help but I'm not (that much of a) moron    
 
VistaGS folder is in %systemroot%/resources/themes but still no luck. Vewy peculiar

 
Have you patched your UxTheme.dll file?
Try another VS.

Seems the Uxtheme.dll patcher provided by you didn't work for me. Used a .cmd app. called "Replacer" and downloaded the Uxtheme.dll seperately.  
Odd thing is that it only recognizes the VistaGS that I've downloaded from you, but not any other Visual-styles. A bit annoying but anywho, at least it's purdy now compared to XP's layout. I'll manage

That's odd. If one non-Microsoft theme works, then all others should too..

The visual styles could not be loaded because the file lailed to load ! And Details are not macht ! Help please

Argh...When extracting, my Norton blocks it... It says something on the lines of "Auto-Blocker has blocked this Infostealer.Gampass. Your computer is not safe"...What can I do?
