You need to replace some files in the system32.dll folder. Download this and follow the instructions inside:

Make sure you have Windows Media Player 11 installed.

Download http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/Replacer-pre.zip
Unzip it to your desktop.

Now, download http://fediafedia.deviantart.com/art/Live-...-Ver-3-69986706
Unzip the downladed folder to your desktop.

Go to the Replacer-pre folder (on your desktop) and run Replacer.cmd (-> a black window will open)

Now go to the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Find wmploc.dll and drag it to the black Replacer screen. After you dragged the wmploc.dll into the screen, press Enter.

Now go to the WMP Live V3 folder. Drag the wmploc.dll file from WMP Live V3 into the black Replacer screen. Press Enter. Close the replacer screen once you're done.

---- NOW DO THIS:

Go to the Replacer-pre folder (on your desktop) and run Replacer.cmd (-> a black window will open)

Now go to the C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player folder. Find wmplayer.exe and drag it to the black Replacer screen. After you dragged the wmplayer.exe into the screen, press Enter.

Now go to the WMP Live V3 folder. Drag the wmplayer.exe file from WMP Live V3 into the black Replacer screen. Press Enter. Close the replacer screen once you're done.

Now restart your computer. If you did the steps above correctly, WMP will have a new style

Hi Stealthargus,

you wanna copy "wmploc.dll" into /system32/ ?

Do you have a floppy and a startdisc? Copy the "wmploc.dll" into c:\

Make a startdisc/bootdisc, reboot:

Noe you should see A:\

type c:\

type copy wmploc.dll c:\windows\system32\

"You wanna overwrite an existing (yes/no) Y/N? - choose yes

Make sure that the file works with Windows Vista and backup the original file - you can replace your original file with the instruction above.

[quotemsg=23221,18,1057]Hi Stealthargus,

you wanna copy "wmploc.dll" into /system32/ ?

not exacly, il trie to explain my problem a bit more in detail if possible.
it could be that i'm understanding the answer on my question not correctly. but we will figure it out

curerntly i'm having the problem that the skin i downloaden from microsoft is not working. (it was working but when i restarted my comp, it wasnt anymore) so i found the post that gave a possible solution to this problem, where you drag the wmploc.dll file into the black replacer screen. (the wmploc.dll file is already located in my system32 folder.) and than follow the rest of the instructions. only the problem starts when i trie to drag the wmploc.dll file in the black replacer screen. it just doesnt do anything. I'm using vista at the moment, and i think the replacer program is based on a 2000 or xp operating system. so i;m looking for the vista version one.

The wmploc.dll guide is for XP. It should work on Vista, but in your case, it will not work (because you don't have a modified wmploc.dll, you only have a skin)
