WinFlip should work normaly, without any problems if you have enough RAM.

I have tested WinFlip on my Vista Inspirat system, and it has worked fine. Go ahead and get WinFlip

Edit: Too late :he:

Not really.

A test with 6 windows open:

When idle, WinFlip uses about 0.4KB-2MB of memory.
It uses about 0% of my CPU.

When you execute the Flip 3D effect, it uses 6MB-8MB of memory.
It uses about 2% to 4% of my CPU when executing the Flip 3D effect.

You'll barely notice WinFlip as its a pretty light application.

Hi Legace!
I just checked out WinFlip at the gallery and it looks great!!  Since it's there, I know it's safe, but by nature I'm an extremely cautious person.  I set a restore point before I download it, my question now is should I just download and run it normally OR should it be done in Safe mode?

If you download WinFlip from the original site, then its just a .zip file (no need to install; only run WinFlip.exe).
However, if you download it from the gallery, its an installer (made by me, so I can help if problems occur ) and it installs Winflip to Program Files/WinFlip.

I don't think you've got to do a restore point, because it does not write any registry keys and it doesn't make it self auto-start (= if you have problems, reboot, and WinFlip will not launch automatically)

Just download and run/install in Normal mode.

Just wanted to say that I downloaded WinFlip and it's great!  :happy2: I still can't believe how much can be done to XP to give it the best of Vista!  You know if Microsoft hasn't improved things with Windows 7, I'll stay with XP for the next 5 years!  Maybe they should try to get some of the boys from Apple to come over and straighten things out for them!!

well this program doesn't need a lot of virtual mem nor high cpu usage but even though i've set it to max quality and max anti-aliasing the image quality (especialy text) has poor quality. well i can only hope this program is still under developement and they'll soon solve this problem.

ty all for replying to this topic

It is a work in progress and the quality will probably get better with time
