I was gettin' ready to install the "New" Vista Rainbar 4.3 and I scanned it with a Virus Program and it said it had a TrojanDownloader-38876, Has anyone else come across this or anything different for Vista Rainbar 4.3, I love to install this but not till I know what is up....

I did a online scan on Virustotal and it still found Trojan.Downloader-38876 by ClamAV and a Suspicious File by Panda....

I'm downloading it now, I'll edit once I've scanned it with a few things.

SpyBot found nothing.

MalwareBytes found nothing.

And Avast found nothing.

Well I'll install, then do some more checks, just in case, but it's looking pretty damn clean.

Well none of my anti-virus/malware/spyware have found anything, and though the install didn't work (Probably what with me using vista and all ) nothing malicious has shown up anywhere

There is nothing in the zip file....

Well Virus total says that ClamAv returns:

ClamAV 0.93.1 2008.07.23 Trojan.Downloader-38876

And Panda:

Panda 9.0.0.4 2008.07.23 Suspicious file

But none of the others do and there are a lot there. I honestly believe there is nothing in there that is harmful, I suspect VirusTotal isn't being 100% correct in all it's results there to be honest.

EDIT:

It seems from google that users on other forums have had this same trojan found by online checkers for files, by Panda and ClamAv but posters on those forums have checked them and they are safe, so it looks like ClamAv and Panda are wrong here.

I think the same, false reports/warning happens from time to time (specialy with freeware-scanner).

But all files from CrystalXP are 100% safe  

(not the files posted/linked in this forum by other members, alway scan unknow files from unknown people)

I thought they would be but better safe than sorry, and it was just a question so there was no harm....I love the download on CrystalXP, and there is another one that looks good that I just stumble across an its the TaskBar RainMeter But I cant figure out how in the world to install it, would you happen to know anything about this item that is on CrystalXP, Thanxs!!!!

XXPhantomPhreakXX, your AV program detected the installer as a trojan, because the installer and configuration files are made with NSIS.

NSIS is a program to create installers, etc. but a malware company named NSIS Media is also on the net.

I can assure you that Rainbar 4.3 is completely safe. When I made the installer, I scanned them for viruses, and they are completely clean..

By the way, Rainbar is based on Rainmeter
