Hi fellas,

I wanted to ask a question about software programs that are posted in the forum.  First, are these posts screened periodically and are the programs being offered tested?  Now the only reason I'm asking is because there are many members here who upon seeing something offered will immediately assume that it is safe and sanctioned by the CrystalXP staff. Can you imagine the chaos that would arise if something  rotten got in and was downloaded into the systems of unsuspecting members.  I'm sure there may be a disclaimer here concerning this, but the bottom line is that if things go awry, you guys are going to wind up being the scapegoats!!  Let me and the other members know what the policy is on software offered at this site.

In the CrystalXP gallery, I think everything is tested, but in the forums its impossible. The mods are not active 24/7 so something containing viruses, malware, etc. may end up here.
I am not a mod, but I know that many of the programs here are tested by users and mods, too, and they will probably report any problems.

I know from experience, that if something containing malware or something that is illeagal is found, it is deleted. But there will always be the delay for the mods to react..

Yes, its true that users can get angry to CrystalXP, but its just stupid to go download everything, without actually knowing its safe.
But yeah, I agree. Maybe there should be some pinned post or something that explains clearly that everything on the forum is not safe.

Thanks for your reply Legace I think it makes things much clearer and that members shoud think before they download!!  What prompted me to write this is that I saw a post by someone who was offering what appeared to be either some sort of packs or visual styles, he had great screenshots and download links, I checked one of the three links he  posted which took me to a site that had screenshots but not much more as far as whether the software was a pack or visual style.  But what struck me as strange was that the  downloads weren't being offered in a zip or rar. file but as  an exe. files!  Of course I didn't dare download but came back here to ask.  I believe it's being checked out.  

I've seen some of the downright nasty messages you've guys get from people who have problems with the regular bricopacks.  I can just imagine the fallout if they download some sort of horrible virus or malware, thinking that it was perfectly safe since they got it here.  All in all it's much better safe than sorry!  Peace!
