How To Use Rainlendar Skins

Rainlendar is a feature rich calendar application that is easy to use and doesn’t take much space on your desktop. It runs on both Windows and Linux. To use Rainlendar Skins you’ll first need to Download Rainlendar and install it on your PC. According to the Rainlendar site:

There are two kinds of skins for Rainlendar: The old skins which are usually distributed as a zip or rar archive and the new skins which have .r2skin extension. To install old skins you need to uncompress the skin into the Rainlendar’s skins-folder (see How To Unzip A File). Make sure that no extra folders are created when you unzip the archive. There must be only one subfolder under the skins-folder where the skin’s ini-file(s) are located. After you refresh the calendar the skin should appear in the skin list. If that doesn’t happen check the Rainlendar’s log file for possible errors.

To install new skins (.r2skin) you can just drag and drop the file over one of the Rainlendar’s windows and it will be installed automatically. In Windows you can install the skin also just by double clicking it.

I'll try and walk you through how I do it, it's not hard.

When I find a skin that I want to download I go into the rainlendar file, open the skins folder and make a new folder with the name of the skin I'm going to download.

Go into the rainlender library and right click on the skin you want, pick download.

It should download as a zip file (not know what your using to download SDC or Wincustomize) find the find and double click, it should open up.

Extract all the files to the folder you made in rainlender.

Open/start rainlender, you will see selections, sometime you need to hit refresh for rainlender to recognize the new skin.

Click on skins or options (depends on whcih version of rainlender you are using) and look for you skin, click and it should load.

Other folks may have a different way, and if I totally messed it up someone will come by to correct me.

Note: There are two versions of rainlender, I have both versions download because not everyone is using the new version to create new skins.
