tg43v3r Profil: New Penguin | thanks, before i install the program, it says it detected windows NT setup file,.. says to termiate the NT setup file.. then continue then it goes C windows//i386 or something should i uninstall vista inspirat first? so uninstall vista inspirat 2, then install this uxtheme, then install vista? or
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | Did you installed SP3 last time ? Or any other Window-Update ? The problem is that the uxteheme.dll is replaced so you can`t use Visual-Styles, usualy Bricopacks fix that. Read this if you install SP3 with a Bricopack If you have SP2, choose the link fpr SP2, if you installed SP3 choose the link for SP3 You doN`t need to uninstall the bricopack only by installing the Patcher
tg43v3r Profil: New Penguin | hm.. thats strage ive never even made an attempt to install SP3 i still have SP2 and i clicked the SP2 link. when i click it though, it says in a tiny box ... has detected a windows NT setup file. Continuing this could affect your computer. C windows//i836we advise you terminate the file and then continue. click ok to terminate this download hm... i guess ill just try and install SP3. thanks
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | Yes, strange ... Here is another Patcher for SP3
| |
tg43v3r Profil: New Penguin | this is what i am at: uninstalled vista inspirat installed sp3 installed vista inspirat installed UXTender and patch rebooted several times my bar is still at the classic. i cant get it to vista style. got any more ideas?
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | I'm having the same problem, the taskbar stays classic style. I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2. I tried installing the SP2 patch, and an error popped out, basically saying that the patch can't recognize my OS So I thought, wth, I'll try the SP3 patch too. When I opened it, it said on the patch that it's for both SP2 / SP3, so I installed it, but I got nothing. After a reboot, the taskbar stays classic. I hope someone can help with this, thanks.
poiru Profil: Moderator | tg43v3r and ReiZero, does the default XP visual style work for you [Luna]?
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | If Luna don`t work check check the Theme service. If the service is not running, Windows reverts to the classic Windows styles. Perform the following: 1. Click Start, Run. 2. Type services.msc and click OK 3. Double-click Themes. 4. Set to Automatic under Startup
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | Luna works... What does the fact that it works mean?
poiru Profil: Moderator | It means that you have not patched the UxTheme.dll properly. Try this patcher [if you have SP3 installed].
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | As I was saying, I don't have SP 3, only SP 2, and I had already installed that patch, got nothing. I installed it again, this time it messed up my Windows explorer, I couldn't start it, I kept getting this error: Bad Image - The apliccation or DLL C:\WINDPWS\system32\UxTheme.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Pleage check this against your installation diskette. I had to use the Task Manager Run function to get into system32 and delete the dll... I think I'll just give up installing Bricopacks >_>
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | When you install a Bricopack usualy you don`t need to patch the uxtheme.dll manually Do you have any kind of Antivirus-Software/Adawarescanner running while use the patcher ? (maybe try it in safemode, press F8 during bootprocess - the same if you install a Bricopack)
poiru Profil: Moderator | Try this: link Maybe it will help

ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | Sorry for not replying these days, I had some trouble with my exams and I had no time to try to repair Brico packs ^^;; In the meantime, I reinstalled a new windows. The old one had SP 2 v2096, so my direct x was completly messed up, not allowing me for example to play WoW [yes, the HORROR ]. I just reinstalled brico packs too, and this time it works flawlessly, which led me to wonder if the cause it didn't work last time could be the infamous v2096 and its bugs ?_?
poiru Profil: Moderator | Good to hear that it finally worked out
| |
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | Thank you ^___^ But there is one last problem... I had installed Brico Packs 1.1, and I just went to the site to download the latest one. I downloaded it, but when I try to unrar it, it tells me it's corrupted

Then try to download the VI2 again. It should work. If you have 1.1 installed, remember to uninstall it first.
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | I tried I don't know how many times already -_- Same thing - Error, archived file is corrupted. Could you perhaps try downloading it from the site, see if it gives you the same error?
ReiZero Profil: New Penguin | Thanks, now I could download and install it ^_^
poiru Profil: Moderator | Happy to hear that Enjoy VI2..
