Hi guys, first of all i apologize for my english, it's probably that contain some errors(I'm italian)

I have 2 question about the modify of the original brico pack vista inspirat ultimate 2 with the add of 2 part of an older brico pack

Before the ultimate 2 version i have used longhorn inspirat, and i prefer two things of this pack, the logon screen and the copy windows(the popup windows with progress bar that appear when we paste a file)(in the vista ultimate 2 i don't like too much the green vista bar, i prefer the version of longhorn pack)

My question is if is possible to change this two components of ultimate 2 pack with the same of longhorn pack

Thanks in advance

Hi Pierlu !

Your english is great, but I don`t understand what you wanna do

The progressbar is part of the Visual-Style, you want to use the VS from the old longhorn-pack ? Or you want to edit another VS and import the porgressbar ?

Of course you can change the VS, you can use all other Visual-Styles, VS are here, here or here. (search for your longhorn-skin)

To get the logon screen of Longhorn Inspirat, you need to:
1) Uninstall Vista Inspirat
2) Install Longhorn Inspirat
3) Copy the logonui.exe (in C: -> WINDOWS -> system32) to your desktop
4) Uninstall Longhorn Inspirat
5) Install Vista Inspirat
6) Go to the system32 folder and change the name of the logonui.exe to logonuivista.exe
7) Copy the logonui.exe from your desktop to system32

Hi breakfastclub, thanks for your reply.
I'll try to explain my ideas :great:

During my posting i have seen Legace that have replied with an help, one question is solved. Thanks Legace for your help.

Returing to your post, breakfastclub i dont want to change Visual style..i like very much the original VS of vista inspirat 2.

My question is about the animation of "paste"window not progress bar(sorry, i have readed my previous post and isn't too clear).

Now i have a clean install of Xp SP III.

In tha attached image over there i have "sorrounded" the zone in which i would like to have longhorn pack animation(i prefer it because is similar to Xp)instead of vista inspirat 2 animation.
It is possible?

Thank

To get the animation, you need to edit the shell32.dll file.
1) install Longhorn inspirat
2) copy the shell32.dll (in system32) to a folder named "Longhorn Shell" on your desktop
3) uninstall longhorn inspirat
4) install vista inspirat
5) copy the shell32 (in system32) to a folder named "Vista Shell" on your desktop

6) Upload both shell32.dll files to a host (for example: MediaFire) and give me the links. I will edit the animation, and give you your new shell32.dll.

I have some confused ideas.
The name of the other pack is simply vista insipirat 1.
I have reinstalled it but i have seen that the the new animation is another style(blue folder instead of vista inspirat 2 yellow folder..so there are many mod to do)..so i keep everything original(i mean vista inspirat 2, certainly..not xp original style)

When i have free time i continue to visit this board, to keep my english updated and fresh, and to try to help something(i'm not proper a newbie :great: ..in fact if I'll decide to modify shell32.dll ill'try to do myself (can you suggest me a program to modify it?))

Goodbye :happy2:

Hi Pierlu !

You need Resource Hacker (freeware), to change the animation open the shell32.dll in c:\windows\system32 and have a look out for AVI ...

I`m pretty sure with google you will find lots of tutorials how to edit systemfiles - but be carefull and always make backups, messing with systemfiles don´t allow any errors  :xeyes:
