Sorry, I don't have this problem. Make sure you have the latest version of rocketdock(1.3.5) and go to here to download the latest version.

Make sure you don't move the icon location because then the path to the shortcut will be different, thus making it have a blank icon.

I've got the same problem :
I guess you have checked "lock items" in the rocketDock menu... I did that and I have the same behaviour than you. Uncheck "lock items"and it might be ok. But I agree it's a little less cool...

Yeah I have checked the box for lock and not lock for the dock and it still happens I guess its only meant for a 1 user and not 2 or more....unless there is something somewhere or someone knows how to make this from stop happenin, I even use the newer version of the Stack Docklet thats out also the 1.0.0.42 version....I think its faster an seems to work better than the others, It works awesome in my ObjectDock Plus that I also use....

Are you moving the picture files that you are using as icons? try storing settings in an .ini file, the option is there in settings.

The .ini is single user only, you didn't mention there was other users on that computer...
Did you store your Icon files on a RSD? (removable storage device)
It could happed, because if you refresh or restart without the  RSD, the files will all be ?s

How to fix this issue:

As I understand it, in order to get Stack Docklet to work with RocketDock you must be in single-user mode.  This is much easier said than done in Windows Vista as Windows will not allow the RocketDock application to create the needed settings.ini file.

The Good News:

I have developed an application to fix this exact issue.  It is called RocketDock Windows Vista Fix and is available via SourceForge.NET.  You can find out more about it and download it here https://sourceforge.net/projects/rdwinvifix/

I would recommend that you download either the version 2 windows binary or the "Total Package" MSI

Have fun and I hope this helps!

Hello,
I have the same problem with Stack Docklet (icon becoming white after restart)
on two computers :
On Vista Pro (on a VAIO CW)
and on Vista Home Premium (on a Toshiba U500).

I would like to know if the solution proposed by gdsoii was efficient for you
or if you found another solution.

Thank you for your help.
Happy new year !

This seems to be one of the few places anyone is giving any answers.
I am running Windows 7 and installed stacktocklet ontop of Rocket Dock.
It seems to work well, I can create a stack and everything
but it doesnt recognize shortcuts and all I'm trying to do is have one icon that has all my librarys in it. (eg. My music, My videos, my documents)
Is this possible? without changing the overall design of my Folders?

I don't know how the stack docklet works, but can't you add folders into it?

I could also create a a few .exe launchers to open each folder, but only if you have a reasonable number of libraries (< 6). Would you want this? If you do, please provide exact loction of each Library.

As far I can remember. StackDocklet recognizes paths :) You can give the path or location of a particular folder & then it will show them in a menu. The older versions only supported the paths of folders but the newer ones also support specific locations like 'My Computer' etc.
And I don't think it's possible to have a different icon according to the folder you've linked to it ;)
Hope this helps

Hey everyone.  Sorry for being gone for so long but I would just like to reassure you that the application I developed over a year ago still works for fixing this issue.  In fact I have even made updates to the application to make it more user friendly.  Some of these updates include a complete GUI as well as a full MSI package with the compiled application, source code and documentation.

Please feel free to contact me via SourceForge if you have any questions, concerns or comments.
