Firstly, thanks for the Vista Inspirat visual theme, it's amazing!. I congratulate everyone involved in this creation, you guys did an excellent job.

I have a problem with the log on and log off screen. They have not been changed to the Vista Inspirat theme. I have gone to the Control panel>User Accounts>Change the way users log on and off and I checked the "Use Welcome screen" option and nothing happened.

Is there any other way to fix this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Hi !
When you install the bricopack vista inspirat, have you selected "logon"?

I thought I did. I'll reinstall and make sure it's selected. I'll let you know about the results. Thanks.

Hi. I just reinstalled the vista theme and still I don't get the log on screen. I made sure it was selected. When I was removing the first vista theme, I saw the log on screen display has been uninstalled too. Something is not allowing it to show...weird.
If this can't be fixed it's ok, the rest of the theme is working great and I'm keeping it.

I have only one program that controls visual styles. It's called Winstyle(It has te ability of changing log ons screens, Icons, visual elements, etc.) and it is included in my Tune Up Utilities 2004 program. I thought this might be the problem so I deleted the program before doing the second reinstallation of Vista Inspirat. I have no other programs that control the visual styles in my PC.

I used the uninstaller provided by Tune Up Utilities, I didn't delete the folder manually from program files. I'll uninstall and delete the folder and reinstall Vista Inspirat and see if that works. Thank you for the help so far

I had the same problem and I discovered the cause

It's TuneUp Utilities believe it or not. I used to change the logon using winstyler that comes with tuneup. and I guess tuneup does changes to the system original logon may be coz when i installed the shell pack I had problem with the logon when tuneup was installed but when i did that again without having tuneup things just went OK

thnx

Yeah, I thought that TuneUp is the problem. I removed it completely, even using registry mechanic. It didn't help to get the logon screen on though, for a moment I thought it did because the Windows vista background showed up for a second when windows was loading the logon screen but then it switched back to the windows default screen.

It appears that TuneUp Utilities has somehow locked the default logon screen.
Thank you very much for the help and information guys, I appreciate it very much. Thanks again for the amazing visual theme, I'll be looking foward to more of your visual themes.

Well I kind of solved the problem. I reinstalled TuneUp Utilities and went to Winstyler>Logon Screen>Add+>Import Files. There I browsed to the Vista Inspirat folder(BricoPacks)>PackFiles and selected the 67_logonui file. I installed it and now I have the Vista Inspirat logon screen working...great!

I posted these steps in case someone has a similar problem. Hopefully this will give you a hand.

:caution:  Check this out guys...  :caution:

For some reason (after installing a 'welcome screen';) TuneUp Utilities 2006 puts the following entry into the registry:

(STRING NAME): UIHost
(STRING VALUE): C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TuneUp Software\TuneUp Utilities\WinStyler\tu_logonui.exe

(essentially what happens is the welcome screen/fonts is embedded in the EXE file (ie - standard MS file is longonui.exe), but for some reason my computer and probably others- wont recognize this path for logon screens.. who knows why it does this..??

The problem for those is that the registry entry is WRONG! This is what fixes it:

#1 - after you chose your welcome screen, just copy the generated "tu_logonui.exe" (in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TuneUp Software\TuneUp Utilities\WinStyler\tu_logonui.exe)  to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder
#2 - go to regedit - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
#3 - DELETE THE STRING NAME/VALUE "UIHost"
#4 - Make an EXPANDED STRING VALUE in the registry location:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] -
Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Name: UIHost
Value: tu_logonui.exe

How STUPID THESE PEOPLE ARE TO MESS THIS UP ON AN "OFFICIAL" RELEASE PROGRAM! THEY NEED TO INCLUDE THIS FIX FOR THEIR UPDATES!! COME ON GUYS!!

Of youre too lazy to do above, just copy and past below into a file (save it as TUwelcomescreenfix.reg or whatever.reg), double click it, import it and wala..
BUT YOU HAVE TO DO IT (STEPS 1 & 4) EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO CHANGE SCREENS! That sux...
----------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

"UIHost"=hex(2):74,00,75,00,5f,00,6c,00,6f,00,67,00,6f,00,6e,00,75,00,69,00,2e,\
  00,65,00,78,00,65,00,00,00
----------

ok, just joined to post this fix.. now spread it for everyone!!

peace out.
 :great:

I had the same problem, and the case was firewall (Sunbelt). It is protecting windows files and asking avery time one of them changes if you allow the change. SOLUTION: I run the logonui.exe manually from windows folder, the firewall asked me if I allow the change and next time the logon screen shows ok.
