Does anybody know how to change the icons in programs such as internet explorer? Like for example I downloaded new icons and with it came this cool looking house which must mean its an icon to be used as "home" when surfing the web...Right? And can someone tell me how you can change the icons in the "control panel"?

Always make backups before safe, some exe-files contains many icons, soemtimes it´s hard to find ...

In "Control Panel" it works the same, the icons are stored in DLL/Exe in windows/system32 ...

I want to change some program icons but i couldn't find a way to change them with "*.png" files. I need help   thanks...

If you are using Windows XP, you'll have to convert them to .ico files first. Have a look at step 3 of the guide.

yeah, thanks But i want to use ".png" files. You know that when we convert them the quality isnt so good. there must be a way or a program or something...

What size are the .png files?

They are 256x256.

The quality of aa icon is affected not by converting it from one format to another but by resizing it , use ToYcon for converting icons from .png to .ico format and remember , Windows only considers those images as icons which have .ico extension .

Hi, i install IconTweak and i change a driver icon, it said me " Restart the pc i cheat like that xD" i restart the PC and the driver icon dosen´t change .. Why ?    I rebuild the icons with

I change my drive icons through IconTweaker and there seems no problem at all with it , it never asks for any restart . The picture below will show you the exact method of changing the icon of drives in IconTweaker:

While browsing for the new icon for your drive , make sure that the new icon your are selecting has .ico .icl .exe or .dll extension

It seems from the picture you provided above that you have already changed your default windows icons , can you tell me which program did you use for it ?

The option "change individual drive icon" would change icon for individual drives (C: D: E: etc) , if you want to change the icon for Card Reader drive then you would have to edit the icon for Removable Drive

how do i change the last two to the first icon?
PS: using tango patcher [latest] and frst one is bmp last two are jpgs

I vave Vista Inspirat 2 and I have a problem with icons on my desktop. I would like to get large icons so i set the size of icons to 52, Apply, OK and everything seems to be allright. But when i restart system or logout/login the icons size is 32 again What is going on?

My OS is Windows XP with SP2. I have installed IconTweaker too. The Crystal Clear Brico Pack is presently installed in my PC. I have downloaded this Icon Pack: http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.id.873...icons-a-png.htm

That pack contains icons as PNG images , you will have to convert them into .ico files in order to apply them on your Windows you can use ToYCon for that , however some programs (RocketDcok , AveDesk) do support PNG icons along with .ico ones
