Hello,

I recently installed RocketDock (latest version 1.3.5) on my laptop running Windows Vista Basic.

Everything is working fine, except when I try to activate the option "Minimize windows to the Dock".

Then, when I minimize a window, I have an empty space in the Dock, and the window title appears with mouse hovering (that is, I can click on it and restore the window), but there is no icon at all...

And I would like that to work very much so that I can finally get rid of the Windows taskbar.

Well, I know that Vista Basic does not display windows previews, so that would be normal.
But, I tried RocketDock on a computer running XP Family, and it does work AND displays the preview...
So why not on Vista, even Basic ?

I tried with deactivating "Desktop composition" and "Display previews instead of icons" in my Vista options.
There, it worked: I could see minimized windows previews in Rocket Dock. Fine.
But by doing that, as my Desktop is not composited anymore, it looks kind of crappy and becomes much less customizable...

So, here are my questions:

- Is there any way to see minimized windows in RocketDock while keeping the rest of my desktop composited normally ?

- Is it possible to maybe see simply the icon of the minimized window application (like in Windows taskbar : Firefox icon, a folder icon, MSN icon,...) instead of the empty slot ? 'Cause I don't really need the whole preview thing - but you would admit that the empty space is not really convenient either...

- I read in another thread that installing an older version of RocketDock (which didn't support windows previews yet, I guess) could be a solution.
Do you think it may work ?

Thank you very much for your help !
(I hope I explained my problem clearly enough, as English is not my mother tongue...)

No, you didn't. We just don't have an answer for you :/

You might want to contact Skunkie through IRC: chat.zoite.net #punklabs (you can use http://www.zoite.net/ to get in)
Or through a message on RocketDock.com (create an account there, login, and use this address: http://rocketdock.com/user/3/contact

Hope you'll get answers to your questions :)
