Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | Well that's an easy one
Download Tweak UI & rebuild your icon cache | |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Ok I will try that one but I don't think it will work as I have already tried to use it. | |
Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | Ok then give it a try | |

Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | jordan252624, Do you have multiple folders appearing as previous shell icons or just the one folder you've showed in the image? | |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | I haven't found any other so I think it is just the one in the image. | |
dazza Profil: Big Penguin | you can manually do it in the properties menu of that folder... ---------------

| |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Please explain how to do because I do not know how to do it with a folder only a program. | |

jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | I do not see a customization tab must be on Vista. | |
fg123 Profil: New Penguin | Yes. I downloaded and installed Vista Inspirat. Then I noticed Crystal Clear and wanted to give it a try. So I uninstalled Inspirat and installed Crystal clear. And then, I wanted to uninstall crystal clear; I did but now there is a Inspirat login screen with Crystal clear Buttons. I tried TweakUI but no luck. My laptop is all messed up... | |

Quote :
Just refresh the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file from your profile directory (usually /Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data). It will be automatically recreated

If you're using XP sp2, this may not help you so, simply change screen color depth Go to Display properties, Display settings and change the color depth from Highest (32bit) to (Medium 16bit) or other way round and apply the settings Then re correct the colour depth you had previously. Hope this helps Mind giving it a try Message edited by Neil on 11-07-2009 at 11:24:44 AM

jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Hmm I will give the color depth a try and say if it changed my folder. | |
dazza Profil: Big Penguin | In xp to change the folder icon, fight click, then click properties, then under customize tab, click change icon
---------------

| |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Um I did that but I only see a General Tab. | |
Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | Did you try changing the Color depth | |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Yes I did but it didn't work. I did find out that this particular file doesn't have the customize tab but the other files in the folder that the messed up file is in do.
| |
Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | Well this is an option for you, Go to that file & copy/move all the sub files/folders inside that in to a newly made folder & delete the folder with that odd icon Then rename your new folder with the same name | |
jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | I can't copy them or move them. | |
Neil Chances are not had but gained....... Profil: Penguin Pro | Differential Diagnosis 1. There are system files included in that folder 2. You don't have administrative rights to change contents in Windows folder 3. Your machine is having some problems 4. You've got a virus (may rare) Message edited by Neil on 11-15-2009 at 09:16:19 AM

jordan252624 Profil: New Penguin | Ok I did what rahul123 said but I still can't copy I only get the options of
Update, Remove and Properties. And I do not think I have any viruses I do a scan every day. The program files I see are get_atlcom Class, Java Runtime Eviroment 1.4.2, Java Runtime Eviroment 1.6.0,
MUWebControl Class, Symantec RuFSI Utility Class
and Windows Live Security Safety Center Base Module. Should I remove one or more of them? | |
poiru Profil: Moderator | 1) Open Notepad and type in the following:
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll
IconIndex=3
2) Save that file as Desktop.ini into the Downloaded Program Files folder.
3) Close Notepad, close all Windows Explorer windows. Now go the directory where Downloaded Program Files is located at, and press CTRL + R.
There you go
EDIT: If you are not capable of doing the above, just post the full path of Downloaded Program Files (e.g. C:\Documents\Downloaded Program Files) and I'll write a program to do that for you. Message edited by poiru on 11-16-2009 at 11:47:12 AM ---------------
